My Little Jackie
Jack TurnerI sat in Scarlette's tent, at the small round table in the tent. I've been staying in herr for the last week or so. From what I've heard, shit is going down in the city. Riots, new super soldiers and the Spies went missing for awhile, before being found back in the lab.
I considered going back, and while I did have more control over my Bullisk form, hopefully enough to not rip someone's head off accidentally, I had no reason too.
They wouldn't want me, I was a threat to not just the status of the team but to everyone on it, and everyone I would be trying to save.
Since the Moonlight Clan attacks five days ago, I've mainly worked on rebuilding this place, it's back on it's feet but the people of the clan are injured, both physically and mentally.
I was going through my bag, most of my stuff I had lost out in the woods when I was stumbling through it, hoping to die. While hunting for food, I managed to find most of the items I lost.
I found Tim's old handgun, somebody stole the clip that went with it, but the gun itself was more important anyway. My Staff Of Guidance I still had, Scarlette took it with me, the jade crystal had a slight shimmer to it that amazed me.
I also managed to find my brown leather jacket, this thing has been through hell and back, I'll be damned if I'm gonna leave it out there.
Beyond that, I just found some of my clothes, extra food which I gave out to people here. A extra knife that I dropped and a pack of matches.
Not sure why I had matched when I can summon a controlled flame on my fingertips, but hey, I clearly didn't have a right mind when I was wandering these woods last week.
Scarlette entered the tent. She took a seat at the table across from me.
"Hello Jack" she spoke formally, I lowered the bag and focused my attention to her, she seemed upset, her eye were red as if she had just been crying, not pouring tears, but enough to tell me something had happened she also had a slight shake to her that was most visable in her hands and knees.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
She placed a folded piece of paper on the desk, and slowly moved her hands back to her lap. She took a long deep breath, in through her nose, out of her mouth. I saw her hands and knees steady as she calmed down.
"Jack, in your time here I've seen you grow, you learned how to control your Bullisk form, and on top of that, you have saved many people from the Moonlight Clan, including myself"
"So?" I blurted out, not seeing her point. A look of slight fustration from her told me that the point was coming.
"So, I've seen that you are capable of so much more then I can offer you. But the path you walk needs to be your own. The problem is, you can't decide who you will become, until you know everything about your past" Scarlette spoke nodding to the piece of paper.
I slowly grabbed the paper and flipped it open, written on the paper was a single line of text.
"56 Pineview Avenue" is what the text wrote.
"A address?" I asked thinking about a Pineview, I believe that was in the outer parts of Guardpost City. It was a more brutal part of the city, but I've heard of the street.
"At that address you'll find a woman named Celina Turner" Scarlette explained, I looked at her in shock.
"Your ready Jack"
...
I lowered the note and shoved it back into my pocket. I reread the address to make sure I was in the right place. I placed my hand on the white mailbox and read the address on it.
