Kaylee's pov

I watched the stage where crew members put the final touches to the scene.
Three years had passed since our trip to Ireland. It had been the break we all needed after what happened. The guys enlisted and I took care of the trainees, who debuted last year with SUGA and Namjoon's help. Their popularity grew fast but BTS was about to make a comeback and the world was waiting. The company hadn't elaborated on why they suddenly stopped. They just told everyone that Jin received his draft notice and the others decided to enlist as well because they missed him.

On the other hand, they did announce Yoongi was dating someone, and of course, the fans were quick to find out who. I received some hate but most fans wished me the best. All I had to do was swear I would take care of him.

"What are you thinking about?" Yoongi asked as he walked up to me from behind and put his arms around me.
"Life," I murmured as I put my left hand on his.
He chuckled, "You're wearing it,"
I turned around to look at him. He was smiling his gummy smile.
"Of course I am! It's my most prized possession!!" I whispered.
"I didn't think you'd be so open about it," he confessed.
"ARMY will find out one way or another, it's better not to play hide and seek. Besides I love my engagement ring,"
He cupped my face with his hands and kissed my forehead. "I love you,"
"I love you too,"

"OKAAAAAAAY! Enough with the cringy stuff or you'll have to carry me out of here," Jimin shouted as he walked past.
"Then I suggest you continue, I can just put him in my pocket and walk out," Jungkook said jokingly.
Jimin turned around and threw his sweater on the ground, Jungkook stuck out his tongue and ran away. Jimin chased him but ended up sprawled on the podium, panting. While Jungkook danced tauntingly in the back of the arena.

"Some things never change," Hoseok murmured as he picked up Jimin's sweater and put it on his shoulder, he gave me and Yoongi a nod and walked away.

Yoongi chuckled and said he had to go. He gave me a peck on my lips and followed Hoseok.

I sighed as I watched him leave. But then I realized I missed two idiots.
Just I as thought that I could hear Jin's windshield wiper laugh from below the stage.

"That's one missing idiot," I murmured

"And I guess I'm the other missing idiot," Taehyung scoffed.

I whirled around to see him a bag of coffee and sandwiches.
"Want one?" he asked.
I grinned and thanked him as he handed me one.
"What did you need me for?"
"Just knowing where you are, I've been working with sixteen-year-olds for so long. Youngtae keeps running away..." I complained.
Taehyung almost spilled his drink as he snorted in laughter.
"Don't mock me!" I grumbled.
He apologized, still laughing, as my phone rang.

"Amaris! How are you!!' I said after I picked up.
"Hey, Kaylee! I'm in Korea right now, I and a former patient just arrived in Seoul,"
"Wha... What do you mean? How?"
"Well, she got discharged a couple of weeks ago but she had to look for an apartment etc. so she stayed with me while looking for a place to live. Her name's Yuéliàng, something meaningful in Chinese but she's not Chinese. She speaks English, so we became friends and when she told me she's going to the BTS concert I figured I'd come with her. So I used up all my vacation days and here I am! I'll be staying for a week,"
"So... you're coming to the concert?"
"That's the plan! OH! Don't tell the guys!"
"Taehyung's next to me, so he knows but if he tells the others I'll kill him,"
Taehyung raised his eyebrows but made a zipping movement over his lips anyway.
Amaris Chuckled and asked: "Can you get me two backstage passes? If it's not too much to ask. I want to surprise her,"
"I'll see what I can do. If I can't do that I'll pull some strings and have you sit right in front of the stage, with security,"
"Thank you so much! Yuéliàng is going to love this!"
"Is it the concert tomorrow?"
"Yes! The fan sign today, but we might not make it in time. And the concert tomorrow,"
"Ok, I'll see you today or tomorrow then," I said as I waved at Taehyung who walked away.

She didn't make it to the fan sign event. But I managed to get her tickets to join us backstage.
I pretended to be nervous and went outside a little before the time she told me she would arrive.
"Come on Amaris, I can't wait out here all day," I murmured as two girls walked my way.
Amaris pulled me in a hug and introduced me to Yuéliàng.
"This is the girl I talked to you about, Yuéliàng this is Kaylee, she got us backstage tickets,"

Yuéliàng, who wore a black mouthmask and a black hat, that hid her blonde hair, looked me in the eye and murmured: "Thanks,"
She looked nervous, her strange eyes kept looking around. They had a weird colour. As if she was wearing brown contacts.
"Big fan?" I asked.
She focussed on me again: "You could say that..."
"Don't be nervous, I'm sure they'll love you," I promised.
She seemed to smile, I couldn't really tell because of the mask.
"I hope so,"

I gave them their passes and guided them in.
"What was she treated for?" I asked.
"I can't tell you, the only thing I can tell you is what happened after she got out. She basically cried herself to sleep till the day she decided to come here,"
"That's... a little strange,"
Amaris nodded.

"Kaylee!" Junho-ssi yelled as he ran to me.
"Yes?"
"Code blue,"

I cursed and followed him after apologizing to Amaris and Yuéliàng.

When I arrived at their dressing room I immediately went to Jimin and sat down in front of him.

"Jimin-ah..."
"I know, I just need a moment for myself,"
"You have ten minutes, then you go to your make-up artist and warm up. Go,"
Jimin sighed, got up and walked away.

"Sorry, he doesn't listen to me like that," Junho-ssi said.
"We might have a code purple too, where's Taehyung?"
"He's in make-up, he already had his breakdown. We just told him to keep wearing the necklace,"
"Ok, great," I nodded.
"We knew this day would bring some feelings back but I'm still worried. God, even I feel like crying..."
"I know, I feel weird too,"
"What's wrong with them?" someone asked.
Amaris stood behind us.
"Who's this?" Junho-ssi asked.
"A friend," I answered. Silently cursing her for following us: "Wait, where's your friend?"
Amaris turned around and pointed at the door: "She said she'd wait there,"
I sighed in relief and told her the way to where she was supposed to wait.

Two minutes later, Jimin walked in. He wiped his tears as he rushed to make-up.
"You can do this Jimin-ah!" I yelled.
"Thanks, Kaylee!"
"Keep an eye on the front row!"
He looked as confused as the others when I told them it made me laugh out loud.

The concert went great, the boys nailed it and the fans were swept away.

I will never forget the chills that ran down my spine when they sang along to 2!!3!! and born singer.

The guys cried tears of joy on stage. Confessed how much they missed the fans and performing. I saw a lot of crying faces in the audience too.

After the concert, they were both tired and hyped because of Amaris' presence. They'd spotted her and her friend the moment they went on stage. Amaris was already hugging and exchanging pleasantries with the boys. Yuéliàng had gone to the toilet.
"I guess she's nervous..." Amaris said apologetically.
"It's ok, as long as she doesn't start screaming when she enters she can take all the time she needs," Namjoon chuckled.
"I'm going to check what's taking her so long," Amaris said.

When she came back she said Yuéliàng had asked to meet everyone separately because she wasn't sure she would survive all seven at once.

They laughed but agreed.

Namjoon went first.
Then Yoongi.
Then Jin.
Then Hoseok.
Then Jimin, who told Jungkook to go first.

Taehyung went in last.

The second the door closed after Taehyung, everyone started laughing, a mixture of happiness, relief, and sadness.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Check for yourself," Yoongi said as he got up and kissed me on my forehead.

He took my hand and guided me to the door. I put my hand on the doorknob and pushed it down hesitantly. The door opened slightly, but just enough to see Taehyung passionately kissing a blonde girl.

"I guess immortality runs in the family," I whispered as tears filled my eyes.
