The pungent smell of the hospital filled EWA's nose the gleaming white walls of the hospital intimidated her bringing a sense of nostalgia to her memory..
She hated it, she hated the dreary feelings it aroused in her,she had always assumed as a child that people who go to the hospital are people hanging on the precipice of death..
Seeing her boss's lying motionless figure on the bed resuscitated that feeling. She stood a bit farther from the bed where Cassy had now made herself comfortable she wanted to tell her to vacate the bed so as to let fresh air get to Mr Kelvin but she knew better not to..
Cassy was the first person that came to mind when Ewa saw Mr Kelvin in that state and she was also the first person on Mr Kelvin's speed dial, her phlegmatic response on the phone when she called her had almost made Ewa scream into the phone and tell her to get her liposuctioned
face to the hospital..She couldn't believe that she would ever ring an actual emergency button, she had assumed that the red round button on Mr Kelvin's side of the desk was for fancy since virtually almost everything in the office seemed unnecessary but since it was a fashion company it was better left fanciful as it was..
She remembered almost been raked off of her feet after barely pressing the red button and almost 10 bulky muscle packed guys dressed in suit and another 20 people dressed in white lab coats and a red Cross logo printed on their left breast pocket barged into the office with first aid boxes and whatnot, they had barely looked her way as they hurriedly transferred Mr Kelvin body to a stretcher and pushed him all the way downstairs as she tailed after them, the way she jumped into the ambulance like she was hustling to enter a moving danfo bus,it was a miracle that all her bones were still intact.
It was no surprise that he was moved to a private ward that had the family name boldly written on the door.

"You know it's still a wonder how why you call me to come tend to your "boyfriend" when you could have just done that yourself or called his mother" Cassy said as she strolled up to where Ewa was sitting at the far end corner of the room
"You were the first person on his speed dial" Ewa replied honestly.
"Oh really he still recognises the significance I played in his life" Cassy drawled.
Ewa eyes rested on cassy's toenail that was painted a dark shade of red,it was done so perfectly that she could almost see her reflection in it.
"You know I wouldn't have been here but for his situation"
Obviously Ewa thought
"When we were together it never go this bad I was always made sure he took his drugs unfailingly I bet you didn't remember to do that".
"Yeah my fault"Ewa murmured uninterestedly.
"I heard you were his P.A when along the line did you two fall in love"
Ewa nearly scoffed she could read Cassy inside out,the girl was jealous but she wasn't ready to tell her the whole lovey -dovey thing that went down at the party was sham at least not from her mouth and besides she was enjoying the way dating her ex made her a step bit higher than this beauty queen.
"It was love at first sight, he loved the way I was all natural" Ewa said laying much emphasis on the "natural"
Ewa noticed the way cassy's lip twitched at the their end but the poor girl wasn't ready to give up her "I-don't-care-you- are-dating- my- ex" game.
"Oh yeah that's true, good old times though but then who isn't natural" she chuckled nervously rubbing the back of her neck..
Ewa wanted to scream at her to stop all her pretense and just date him already, she could'nt go one more day pretending to Mr Kelvin's girlfriend..
