Today in the Heere-Hansen household today, the living room was full of the scratching of a pen and everyone looking at the phone recording their voices. Connie, the reporter friend Heidi talked up, was the one currently writing, with Evan, Heidi, and Bill across from her. Evan was currently on the other side of the couch away from Bill, who had Heidi next to him. Evan had his hands in his hoodie pockets and was fidgeting, his mom's words from before going through his head. If this gets too overwhelming for you, just say Mom and I'll tell her to leave. Easy, no pressure...
"So, Heidi, can you please tell our readers what you are currently doing? You seem to be in a new area, a new state, a new family. That must make for some interesting new additions to the life your son wrote about." Evan paled at this. Even before Heidi could open her mouth, Bill cut her off.
"Well, it's called the Ghost Gabber, and--" Welp, there went everything. Evan quickly cut him.
"Sh-She's actually just a n-normal mom working as a n-nurse. Sh-She is also st-still going to school... She's an amazing, intelligent... woman..." He stuttered out, very anxious now.
"I'm sorry about Bill. He's just really into ghost hunting." Connie frowned.
"Um, forgive me... did you say... ghost hunting?" Evan's leg started to shake in anxiety and this cause Heidi to sigh. Luckily, they were saved as the front door opened to reveal Jeremy, (Y/N), and Michael, all tired as hell. Jeremy was still wearing Michael's jacket and (Y/N)'s hair was a mess. She was wearing Jeremy's blue cardigan, which was big on her because of his tall stature.
"You guys look like a mess. I don't think I like you guys doing overnight zoo research..." Heidi spoke, concerned. Jeremy gave a slightly high, slightly tired smile.
"Relax, Heidi. We're just a bunch of friends. In the zoo. At night..." Everyone stared at them. He sighed tiredly.
"We'll be in my room..." They headed upstairs, but not before the Ghost Gabber spoke.
"We'll be in my room. Fear me." Heidi swiped the Ghost Grabber and threw it into the hamper outside the washroom. It went in perfectly.
"Anyway, where were we?" She asked.
-----
They all approached Jeremy's room, Michael carrying (Y/N) because she was super tired. She was the only one who didn't fall asleep.
"Here we go, Jer-Bear. Home in time for some well-deserved rest." At those words, (Y/N) yawned and cuddled close into the cardigan. Michael checked his phone, leaning against the wall near the door.
"You might want to keep it quick because you've got thirteen minutes." Jeremy groaned. Mid-groan, a mist came from his mouth and he opened his bedroom door to reveal a large mechanical ghost in the doorway.
"Hello, ghost child." The ghost trapped Jeremy in a net and pulled him into his room, the door slamming shut behind him.
"Jeremy!" Michael and (Y/N) called, him putting her down now that she was awake and alert. Jeremy from inside the net could hear their pounding on the door. He was terrified but determined at this ghost that was looming over him.
"The human ghost child in its natural habitat." The menacing ghost spoke as if Jeremy was his pray, which left a disgusting taste in the brunette's mouth.
"Who the fuck are you?" Jeremy asked meekly.
"I am Skulker. A collector of things rare and unique. And you, Ghost Child, are that and more." Skulker laughed before stomping and breaking a red GameBoy.
"H-Hey! My GameBoy! Michael bought me that for my birthday!" He cried out, pouting at its demise.
"Pity, though. I'd hoped you would put up more of a fight." Skulker teased, filling Jeremy with some anger. Skulker thought this was a game? Then Jeremy would give him a game.
