One Month Later

It had been a month since Jeremy left the hospital, his dad and Heidi being informed that he got confused in waking up and fell out of bed (for which this wasn't actually the case). Just in case Jeremy needed help, Heidi and Evan had temporarily moved in with the older boy taking the guest bedroom and bring a bunch of plants to decorate it. Michael and (Y/N) also became accustomed to sleeping over every other day to see if there were any leads on his 'condition'. His dad had also gotten into ghost hunting again, being more open about it. It was currently breakfast where Evan sat at the table with Jeremy who was eating cereal. Heidi entered, yawning and giving each boy a kiss on the head before stopping at Evan.

"Have you been writing those letters to yourself? "Dear Evan Hansen, this is gonna be a good day and here's why..."" She asked as she started to make herself oatmeal. He blushed, eyeing his soon-to-be stepbrother and mumbled in reply.

"I started one..." Jeremy shifted uncomfortably (mostly because the Wi-Fi was down and he couldn't get in his morning of masturbation...), trying to eat his cereal when his hand suddenly disappeared. His spoon dropped through his intangible hand as he attempted to take a bite of cereal. He gasped before gazing down at his missing hand. Upon realizing his hand was invisible, likely seeing Evan and Heidi were occupied, Jeremy freaked out and quickly hid his hand under the table.

"Those letters are important, honey. They're gonna help you build your confidence. " Heidi now turned, Jeremy's invisible hand now hidden as well. Evan sighed before taking a bite of his bagel.

"Hey! I know! You can go around today and Jeremy could introduce you to his friends. How 'bout that?" Heidi reasoned while heating her oatmeal.

"Perfect.." Evan spoke dismissively, just wanting to leave already and Jeremy could feel this from his aura, social anxiety pouring off of him. Suddenly, Jeremy's dad came in with an invention.

"Look what I finished! I call it, 'Spirit Finder!' This baby uses satellites to lead you right to the ghosts." Jeremy paled, started to feel more uncomfortable than he already was.

"I-It uses what to track what?..." He stuttered before gulping. An automated female voice rang out. "A ghost is near. Walk forward." Jeremy's dad started to, causing Jeremy to stand and back up as if going to get something from his backpack in the living room. His dad followed him until he was right behind him, the device inches from his back.

"Ghost located." The machine sounded, confusing the man holding it. Jeremy turned in fake shock. "What? Oh, that can't be right."

Suddenly, Jeremy's whole body suddenly became invisible. He gazed down at himself, terrified, and quickly managed to return to normal. He then rubbed his arm in nervousness.

"A-Actually, I need to tell you two something... " Evan looked over, seeing the same anxious behavior from a year ago when he broke his arm. He sighed and stood.

"U-Uh, actually, Jeremy, I would like to get to school early. I feel a bit nervous that I might get lost and then I will be late a-and--" Jeremy put his hands up, waving them at Evan's word vomit.

"I get it, man. Let's get going." The two rushed out with their things, leaving the two parents there with looks of confusion.

"Huh. That's weird. Evan didn't even take his medication." Jeremy's dad narrowed his eyes at this. "That can only mean one thing. That's not Evan; that's a ghost." Jeremy's dad (Let's call him Bill because he needs a name and he doesn't have one. You know, the 'B' in 'BS'?) sprinted to the door while grabbing Heidi's arm.

"Jeremy, no! It's a trap!"

-----

Jeremy, Michael, and (Y/N) were walking in the hall before starting to enter a staircase.

"I don't know, I think I should tell them, guys." Jeremy expressed his feelings as they scaled the stairs.

"It's been a month since the accident and I still have barely any fucking control.." Jeremy whined, causing Michael to smirk.

"What? Did your dick turn invisible while you were jerking off last night?" The Filipino male teased, causing (Y/N) to snicker. Jeremy blushed pink.

"No... the internet is out because of the tree that fell next door..." He mumbled, eyes glued to the ground. He hid his face in his shirt before bumping into someone. He lowered his shirt to see he bumped into... CHRISTINE?! CHRISTINE CONIGULA!! He was bright red and went to apologize. He was only able to make an incoherent noise. She turned to him.

"Did you say something?" He froze, causing his friends to laugh.

"I...uhhh...nuh!" He let out before speeding around the corner to hide. The two friends laughed at his misfortune.

"You, Jeremy Heere, are something else." (Y/N) commented before stealing a sip of Michael's blue raspberry slushie. He whined in protest, but it was too late. She glanced at him.

"One sip won't kill me, Mikey." The tallest of the three groaned.

"If anyone found out my secret, I would never be able to survive high school... I would go from geek to freak around here..." Jeremy complained, starting to sink into the floor from his lower half going intangible. Michael and (Y/N) looked at each other before chuckling.

"You are the king of subtlety right here." (Y/N) teased before she and Michael helped him up.

"Gah, damn it! If my dad can invent something that accidentally made me half-ghost, why can't he invent something that turns me back to fucking normal!?" Jeremy asked as he leaned against a wall at the top of the stairs with crossed arms and a pout. Suddenly, he turned invisible and almost feel into it if it wasn't for (Y/N) catching his wrist and pulling back. He yelped before groaning with a blush.

"I don't want much in life, but to do more than just survive might help... This 'condition' doesn't fucking help..." He mumbled. (Y/N) rolled her eyes before grabbing his chin, making him look up at her.

"Jeremy, don't act so depressed. I think your powers are awesome and they make you super unique." She winked, causing him to blush. Michael snorted.

"You're one to talk. You wear brown and black every day and don't stray from your 'sugar-free' diet." She pouted and turned.

"It's not my fault I am diabetic." Michael laughed. (If you actually do love sugar, like me, I get you. I needed a way to have a food war like the veggies vs meat from the first episode. Bear with me in some cases like this :) - Love, Karter)

"One word: su-gar. Slushies are the best example of this. Also, Milky Way chocolate is the fucking bomb." She smirked at him.

"...And it's about to end. The school board finally agreed to try a new cafeteria menu. I wore them down." Michael's face was replaced with one of horror.

"Wait... you did what?!"

-----

In the cafeteria, there was a sign that now said, 'Now Sugar-Free!'. Where there used to be extreme sugar-filled cereal, ice cream, donuts, and cookies was now replaced with granola bars, sugar-free yogurt, and fruits and veggies. Jeremy gazed at the titles, furrowing his brows.

"Kiwi? Starfruit?" He asked, confused. Michael fell to his knees and dramatically yelled,

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" (Y/N) smiled.

"This is the one time I can actually get lunch in the caf without my blood sugar spiking. Fuck you, this is a miracle." She grinned.
