Lucky couldn't help but grouch throughout his entire journey to the underdeveloped town he was posted to, to serve.

The only things that calmed him down, was the fact that he had a long time friend he could live with. He didn't have to stay in an abandoned poorly constructed hotel, with zero services.

But first, he had to go to the government school he was posted to. He prayed in his mind, that they weren't going to be razz untrained 'pikins' [a slag for children]. He couldn't call them kids yet, not until he met him.

The school was surrounded by bushes and narrow paths, Lucky didn't like it. It looked really risked and dangerous. 'And these pikins pass here every day? Ah! What a town,' he thought to himself in pity and disbelief.

The school compound was filled with clayey sand, making it very dusty. A little breeze and the entire classes would be filled with dust.

Lucky slowly walked into the staff room. The staff room wasn't different from the classrooms in any way. It was looking so old and abandoned, even though it was in full use. The tables were partially broken, designed with biro inks, and looking very old. Lucky shook his head in regret. He began to wish he had used his father connection to service in a better town.
