The Big Book of Poems

Ouch.

After about three very crazy days of feeling exactly like this - it just didn't let up, so now - I discovered - I can write with a belly ache

At first , I get the stomach ache

It feels like all my intestines are in a knot

It feels like my feet are heavy and my waist is twisting

It's like dread is seeping through my insides

It's like I'm hungry , but it's bad to be hungry

Then , I get the headache

Caused by the shouting

As it burns through my skull

I press my ears and hold my head but it never works

I feel it in my eyes

Like they're being pulled out slowly

With both fire and ice

Then the world starts spinning

I lose my grasp on reality and go toppling

Toppling

Toppling

Down onto the bathroom floor

Hands shaking

Stomach hurting

Head burning

World spinning

As I try to right the earth with my eyes
