How To Eat Walls

                                                          Arctica's P.O.V.

I stood, but my brother didn't. I yelped along with him, and we stood again together. Annelid, Dylan, and Nico were all gone, and Mario was soon after. Stupid vampires and werewolves with superhuman speed. Kitty's ears flattened, her pupils in her blue eyes turning to slits.

"You guys stay here." Sunny commanded to us all. The teenagers. "But I want to help--"

"It's dangerous." she said before leaving too. Jun-May stayed behind, because she and Annelid were mine and Fox's guardian angels and one of them at least had to watch us.

"So. Who wants pizza?" Sketch asked. I could tell he was trying to break the silence or try to change the mood, but that was my job. My brother tugged my hair, once, twice. I tugged his ear in agreement.

"Welp, let's go." I said. Fox looked reluctant, and Sketch seemed worried. His gaze flicked to Scarlet, who shrugged. Kitty hissed and shifted into a cat, and Quill turned into Birdman. Jun-May bit her lip. "Guys, I think you should stay. That was Unilla, an if she is in danger, then--"

"Then we need to find out why." I interrupted, and my brother glanced at me. I began to walk, and he shuffled. Birdman--who was like a giant crow with human legs and hair still like Quill's--flew out the door.

"Well, I got the Kool-Aid man hostage incase its the company wanting him back." Sketch offered, and everyone's head swiveled to him. He looked utterly confused. "What? Why are you all looking at me like that?"

"I didn't know you were such a...Sketchy person." Jun-May said, as a way of stalling. Too bad I've heard worse puns from Annelid and Sunny in their pun battles.

I stepped outside, but my brother stayed put. I glared at him, and I could see a change in is decision. "Maybe we should stay..."

"Why?"

"Feel, sister. What are the others feeling." he said, his golden green eyes flicked outside. And then I was hit with a massive wave of grief, anguish, and fear.

I put a hand to my mouth. "Unilla's dead."

Jun-May choked on her spit, and my brother tugged me along so he could pat her back. He was so careful about everything, it was weird.

Quill stumbled back in and coughed up some feathers. "Sketch, your house. It's burning."

"Again? But I wasn't cooking!" He said, standing up. Pale. Kitty--in cat form, I have to say so this doesn't sound weird--sat in his lap and nudged his hand. Before, she had been a lot meaner. In fact, she probably would have been the one to set the house on fire. She hated people, Sketch the most because technically he kidnapped her. But when she became humanoid, she changed a little. I think it was something Sketch said, or having a human conscience that did it. She's still horrible, just a lot nicer. She once tugged on Kyle's hair when he let it down from his man-bun, asking why he had long hair but he was a dude.

"But...it's gone. Rubble on fire, that what it really is." Quill whispered, distraught.

Kitty began to meow, and I could tell if she were in human form all we would hear is a string of curses to whomever had burned the house.

And then the crying began.

"The children!" Jun-May said frantically. I rushed with my brother into the nursery, where Andre--Mario and Oliver's adopted son--stood, crying. "What's wrong?" My brother asked, kneeling down. The five-year-old kept crying, but through his wails I heard, "Dylan is going to be gone!"

"What do you mean going to be?!" My brother asked frantically.

"I had a dream!" Andre spouted, tears falling down his face. The other kids began to stir, and Mayson went beside Andre. "It's just a dream." he said warily. He didn't want his dad to be gone. Dylan--the girl one, one of Dylan and Annelid's daughters--came to her brother with Lucifer and her little brothers, Wolf and James. The other two children from the Osaka's were babies that were now crying in their crib.

Suddenly, something crashed through the window. It took me a moment to realize it was Annelid. Her eyes were glowing gold, and a halo and wings were faintly visible. She was the only guardian angel who happened to be a vampire, at least, before she had kids. Now they were all guardian angels of the other children, but also had a hunger for blood.

Talk about a weird family.

Her gaze flicked around the room before landing on a red shadow. "Scarlet, find out who that was. Please." she ordered, her voice having a slight echo. Scarlet nodded and disappeared, and Annelid shrank, angelic features leaving with a sparkle.

"He's gone." she whispered, and her children swarmed around her. Only, they didn't bug her with questions. I felt my brother try and give the room a boost of calm, but it didn't happen. Andre looked to my brother and I. "I told you he would be stolded."

The room seemed to fracture as Annelid began to scream. I didn't know what to do, my powers wouldn't work. Jun-May rushed over and tried to help calm her friend, and I backed away with my brother. I was crying too now, but it felt weird. Water has never leaked from my eyes before, and what was this feeling in my chest? Grief? Pain? Anger?

I sat down in the hallway outside of the nursery, dragging my brother down with me. He wrapped an arm around me, and I leaned into him.

But something in my mind hardened, and I felt it harden in everyone around us who knew.

We would find Dylan, and make whomever did this pay.
