Magical Transport--OH DANG WE HERE FRACK

                                                                 Kitty's P.O.V.

Everyone finally fell asleep, so I was okay to walk around. But just in case, I stayed in cat form. Too bad they don't have a litter box around here. I rest my head on my paws, contemplating a bath. But then I heard voices.

"Fox? Why are you awake?"

"Because Arctica can't sleep without sounding like a pig. How did you know I was asleep? Why weren't you asleep?"

"I knew you were awake because you're tapping the nightstand above my head, which is the same reason why I'm still awake."

"Oh. I'm sorry."

"No, it's fine. I never sleep well anyway. Is it okay if I call you Renard Rouge?"

"That's French for something, isn't it?"

"No, it's not French for something. It's French for Red Fox."

"I--wow, ha-ha. Wait, I'm not red. Why not call me Fox in French?"

"Because fox in French is fox."

"Oh. Really?"

"Americans steal a lot of words from other languages."

"And other languages steal from Latin."

"Vrai, you are correct."

Then silence. Aw, this was getting cute. I was about to stretch, but the Fox spoke again, softly and more quiet. I bet he thought I was awake and couldn't hear. "Zaastaish?"

"Still very much awake."

"Why are you traveling with us? Why not just go home free?"

"Well, my brother and I don't really have a home. We have always been wanderers, nomads. And Uanai insisted on coming."

"You could have just told him no."

"I would never! I can't say no, not to him. He is special to me."

"Okay, okay..."

"But there may have been another reason I stayed. I will not say, though."

"Aw, why not?"

"Because it is for me to know and you to find out."

"And I can find out when you tell me."

Silence again, but only because they were smiling. And then it stayed quiet. But then I heard one last exchanging of words: "Good night, Zaastaish." and after that, "Good night, Fox. Je t'aime."

I almost squealed. I know I love you is fifty-four languages, including French. I ship these two like FedEx right now! Wait, is Zaastaish straight? Oh no, that will break poor Fox's heart! I must ask him later.

Suddenly the whole hotel shook, and a flash of blinding light. Then the shaking stopped, but the temperature has increased tenfold. Everyone was awake now, groggy and hot.

"What happened?" Quill yawned, everyone nodding. Zaastaish ran to the window. "Looks like we're in Arizona."

It took a moment for all of us to a) stop laughing because we though it was a joke, b) let that sink in, and d) stop shaking in excitement/fear.

"So this is a magical hotel or something?" Quill asked, making us all nod. Zaastaish shrugged. "It doesn't matter. We're here now. Let's go, we can plan later."

"Wait..." Arctica began, but Quill's eyes shot open as if realizing this wasn't a dream or something weird Al was concocting. To be honest, I think she was trying to help us with this hotel thing.

"OH DANG WE HERE OH FRACK UHMMM--"

"Don't you mean we're here, not we here?"

"Don't judge my grammar when I'm tired, Arctica."

I shifted to human form. "Do we know where to go? Ferrin, you know the way around, right? How to get to the prisoners? All the hallways? Guard rounds?" I asked, heart beating. In fact, everyone's was. We were not anticipating being here so soon.

Ferrin nodded and said, "I do, but whenever someone is taken hostage or killed they change it all."

"Well, we'll have to go on that. Plan now in the cool, then get there. So, how--"

Arctica clamped a hand over my mouth. "Me, Fox, the kids and Kitty will all go to disarm the guards. Me and Fox can go ahead of the ones I just listed, making all the guards lethargic and sad or really really happy. Kitty can tell us where the guards are with her hearing. The kids will just tag along because they will get in the way of everyone else. Zaastaish and Quill can go get Dylan and Sketch. Zaastaish can fly and Quill can peck the guards in the way to death. We meet back here at sunrise."

"Wait, where will you be going to disarm people?" Quill asked suspiciously.

"In case you guys only find one prisoner instead of both. Now, let's all go." she said, clapping her hands together.

On out way out, Fox pointed out, "You said Kitty's name. Multiple times."

"I did? No, I don't think I did. I didn't." Arctica said, crossing her arms. And because we were now in a new time zone, it wasn't four in the morning anymore but about one. So about four hours to do all this. Ferrin led us around until we made it to an old abandoned warehouse. She nodded. "This is definitely the building. Let's go!"

And then we all stood here. Hesitant. Waiting. And then I heard it, footsteps. "Arctica, Fox, three men on the side coming our way, two females not far behind. Another guard is up on the fourth floor watching us, and on the roof are six more."

"How do you know some are female and male?" Zaastaish asked.

"I don't know, ask Al."

"Who?"

Oh, shoot. "I didn't say anything. What? Hey look we can go now." I said, shoving us all towards the barred-up doors. As we tried to figure out how to get past the padlock, Ferrin stepped forward and took it off.

"How did you do that? Did you find the key?" Lucifer asked.

"No. It's just never locked in the first place. The Boss boiled the only key into a molten mess after it got lost and everyone was either locked in or out."

"So, you're saying this is the only exit?"

"Bullet-proof glass all around, concrete walls, lots and lots of guards..."

"I get it, I get it..." Fox muttered, examining the inside after making eight guards crumple to the floor. Or path was already split with a left or right. Arctica led us to the left, and Zaastaish and Quill went to the right.

All the guards in the hallway crumpled to the floor, all of them crying and sobbing. Fox looked deep in concentration, but Arctica looked like she wasn't doing anything. Then she whipped to her brother and shouted, "You better go along with me on the story when we get back home, or Zaastaish gets it."

Then all the guards rose and started firing at the children ignoring me, Arctica, and Fox. Arctica screamed and shouted on the top of her lungs, "KITTY LOOK WHAT YOU DID!"

But I wasn't paying attention. I Threw myself in front of the kids, taking bullet after bullet. I was facing them, too. They were all huddled, scared. I smiled despite the pain. "Don't worry, I'm fine. Just...run, okay?" I told them, right before a bullet hit my throat. I was dripping blood, and they were all screaming and crying. Arctica was trying to run away and drag Fox with her, but he was trying his hardest to stay and help.

Soon, Arctica was out and so were all the guards who were shooting.

And then so was I.
