Chapter 25

I know that this composition is most likely chello and piano but I, TBH, couldn't tell the difference at first so just please, ignore that or imagine it does have a violin featured so... please. Either way, I hope you enjoy!

Shawn's eyes widened at the picture Maria had posted to her Instagram only a little bit after he fell asleep. She stood in what looked to be an empty ballroom. She wore an Audrey Hepburn style black dress that fell to her knees and matching t-strap suede stilettos with black satin and lace fingerless opera gloves covering her arms. Her jet black hair fell in almost victory curls over her shoulders and she held her beloved violin and bow in her hands.

Shawn smiled lightly as he looked to the girl in question, still asleep in bed next to him. He silently got out of the bed so as not to wake her and went to the home studio, grabbing his laptop on the way. He pulled up Maria's Instagram to see a YouTube link and decided to open the webcam as well. He figured some of his fans (and probably Maria when she woke up) would want to see his reactions to whatever this was.

"Hey guys!" He waved into the camera after hitting record. "So I'm in my home studio and Maria is currently asleep but apparently posted something to YouTube in tribute of my new album coming out that involves her looking like a combination of Audrey Hepburn and Lindsey Stirling. Not that I'm complaining. She looks even more gorgeous than usual. But since you all and probably she would want to see my reaction, I thought I would record it for you guys. So, let's see what this is."

He clicked on the link and had to cover his mouth in shock at the title of the video. In My Blood/Swan Lake - The Piano Guys. "Oh my God." He gasped. He paused before anything happened. "Guys, she worked with the Piano Guys! They are one of her all-time favorite YouTube groups. Oh my God, this is already incredible and I haven't even started the video."

The video started on a shot of a hand poised on a violin neck. It was obviously Maria's as it was in the same gloves from the picture and had her favorite black nail polish. Shawn blinked in surprise when a bow came down and it began to play the opening of the Swan Lake ballet theme. It cut to a shot of the stage where the pianist Jon and cello player Steven sat with their instruments.

Steven began to beautifully play the Swan Lake piece with Maria's violin sounding in the background. Suddenly, it alternated between showing Maria's fingers plucking the strings of her violin, Steven playing the melody of In My Blood, and a circling shot of Maria's whole body down to her feet where her heels were tapping the beat. "I literally have the most amazing girlfriend in the world." Shawn said quietly, watching in rapt attention.

The camera moved back to show all of Maria as she took over the In My Blood melody on her violin. "You guys can see why I love her so much, right?" Shawn asked. His smile grew as he listened to his girlfriend play. The video went to show Jon beginning to passionately play the piano in time with the melody. It showed Maria stepping forward with the beat as the music built up until she was in the center of the empty ballroom. "Oh my God, this is... oh my God." Shawn ran a hand through his hair, the smile never leaving his face.

The music stopped and the camera circled around Maria slightly. Shawn held his breath, his eyes on the screen. Suddenly, the music crashed into the chorus, Maria leading the melody on her violin and starting to do simple choreography reminiscent of Lindsey Stirling. Shawn let out a noise somewhere between a laugh and a cheer and covered his mouth. The video alternated showing Steven and Jon on the stage and Maria spinning and dancing in the ballroom with her violin.

"This is just... unbelievable." Shawn gasped. His eyes followed Maria's every step on the ballroom floor. Maria's movements slowed to more flowing and graceful steps as the song melted back into the Swan Lake suite. The camera got shots of her hands moving expertly across the strings and Jon and Steven dissolving into the music they were playing. The song began to pulse with Jon practically pounding the notes out. Maria fell to her knees on the floor, still playing and the music matching her collapse. Shawn let out a small gasp.

Maria rolled from her knees onto her back in almost the exact same position as Shawn was in the In My Blood music video. She began the In My Blood chorus in that position while Jon and Steven continued the Swan Lake suite. "She is just fucking gorgeous." Shawn whispered, almost to himself. The two songs blended together until you couldn't really distinguish one from the other. The last beat sounded and the screen cut to black. A second or two later, white script text formed on the screen reading "To Shawn. Love, 'Audrey'". The text faded and showed the Piano Guys' website.

Shawn stopped the video and ran his hands through his hair. "Holy shit." He breathed. He laughed a bit. "Oh my God, that was so amazing! I can't believe she did all that and managed to keep it secret from me!" He leaned his head back, burying his face in his hands. "There are no words in the English language to describe how much I love this girl."

He brought his head back to look at the camera. "Okay well that was freaking insane and I loved it! Please watch the video if you haven't already! The Piano Guys do some amazing work and Maria loves them so much. And Maria, if you're watching, thank you so much for everything including this video. This is just proof that you truly are a silver screen star born in the wrong era." He blew a kiss to the camera. "I love you too much for words."

He ended the recording and sent it to Andrew with a message that maybe they could post it online for the fans to see.

He stood up, closing his laptop and started for the bedroom again. On the way there, he met Maria who looked to be just rolling out of bed. She was tugging the hair tie out as it was now tangled in her hair after her sleep. 

She finally got it out and smiled at Shawn. "Hey, you weren't in bed when..." He cut her off by crashing his lips to hers. She stiffened for a split second before relaxing into the familiar touch and wrapping her arms around his neck. She tangled her fingers in his hair while his arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her tightly against him. He didn't release her until their lungs were burning from lack of air. She looked at him with a breathless smile. "So I'm guessing you saw the video?"
