Connor looked around him at the mass of androids. He shifted his feet, widening his stance. He didn't know what to do, or where to go, no one was giving him instructions. It had been years since he'd come here, long after the war for Detroit. No one knew who he was or that he had fought beside Markus, the android who had paved the way to android freedom. How long that had lasted. He bumped into something and immediately turned around to apologize.

"Oh I am sorry" Connor paused, the Android in front of him was in terrible condition. It had half its face damaged and parts of its body too.

"Oh it's okay Ralph is fine"

"Are you Ralph?"

"Yes, I am Ralph. Ralph is wondering your name? Ralph has not seen you here before"

"My name is Connor"

"Ralph wants help will Connor help?"

"With what?"

"Ralph wants Connor help will he help?"

"I don't know"

"Ralph wants Connor to say yes. "

"Yes?"

"GOOD! Come, we need to get someone first"

"Uh okay"

Connor did not know what he was doing, following an android he just met. But he decided that if  Lt. Anderson was with him, he would want Connor to help.

They got off the bus and Connor looked around, wondering what on earth was going on. Ralph marched forward, leaving Connor behind.

"COME BACK HERE!!!"  Connor heard a yell from behind him, and a female android came running towards him, a big man behind her. Her eyes met Connor's and she gave him a look that could only be described as, help me.

Connor took action, not fulling thinking about what he was doing. He stood in front of the man's way, planting his feet firmly.

"Move you, idiot!! I've got 10 minutes left with her!"

"No, please, leave me alone." The female android said, stepping behind Connor.

"Come here now!"

"She said no," Connor said finding his voice.

"I won't ask, another time."

Connor could feel what was about to happen, but he stood his ground, even if he didn't work on the force anymore, he could still protect his people. The man lunged, and Connor dodged letting the man fall to the ground behind him.

"Please," Connor said, "Please, just let us go."  His pleads were useless, and the man ran at him again. This time, when Connor dodged the man went after the female android instead. He crashed into her, taking her to the ground, her head cracked back.   "NO!"   Connor ripped the man's arms off her, taking them both to the ground.

The man grabbed Connor and rolled on top of him, punching mercilessly on his face. Connor instinctively put up his hands to protect his face. The man pushed himself off Connor and kicked him savagely in the stomach. A crowd had now surrounded the two of them, mostly of humans edging the man on, telling him to, "HIT HARDER!" or "MAKE EM PAY!" No one seemed interested in helping. Connor was stuck on the ground, heaving, and coughing of thirium, system warnings flashing across his eyes.   Suddenly the crowd was screaming, shrill and harsh and Connor saw the man being tackled by something. He recognized the messed up face, Ralph.  Ralph took the man down, looking at him with eyes crazy and full of rage. The bystanders roared and started to close in on Ralph.   The female android took Connor's hand and pulled him up. Connor ran to Ralph pulling him off the other man.  "Ralph, we have to go!" Connor said, offering his hand out to Ralph.  Ralph looked up, his eyes showing no recognition towards Connor.

"Ralph!"  Ralph snapped to attention, his eyes focusing and then recognizing Connor. He accepted Connors outstretched hand and Connor pulled him off the man.

A shot rang out. Everyone fled.
