Tony had been bugged by every member of the team about who Spider-Man really was but until Fury asked, he'd ignored that particular request. Since Fury was technically his boss and (although he'd never admit it) slightly scary he begrudgingly agreed to get the hero to reveal himself to the team but only them. He had made sure that Peter would not be put in the public eye or his personal enemies way.
That should explain why he was sitting along with the rest of the Avengers in the conference room while staring down at his watch. Peter had texted him saying his decathlon club had overrun so he might be slightly late but would go the 'Spider route' to try and get there on as soon as he could. This was the reason a large human sized window was wide open, awaiting his arrival so he wouldn't have to smash the glass and make a over dramatic entrance.
Oh, and II suppose Tony cared slightly about whether or not if the kid was impaled by glass shards.
Steve was about to ask why the mysterious man wasn't there yet when he saw a blur of red, blue and black came into his eyesight, hurtling towards the open window. He could faintly hear the guy muttering something along the lines of 'please don't miss, please don't miss' over and over.
Luckily he used his webs to swing perfectly into the room, not being hurt in his landing by rolling his body forward to take the impact then jumping up to his feet. Steve got a sense of immaturity from him but that impression was mostly from the fight in Germany.
Tony smiled at Peter and turned his wrist to show the kid his watch "Your six minutes late, better luck next time but thanks for playing." Although no one could see, Stark swore that Peter had rolled his eyes at that comment even though his face was hidden by the mask.
"Come on Mr Stark, are you not commenting on the fact you don't have a splattered spider on your tower?" The boy chuckled, raising confusion in the rest of the people in the room from his young voice that only some had heard months ago.
They had all assumed that whoever the person was behind the mask was at least twenty years old but from the short amount of things they'd seen they of him were having doubts in their prediction.
Nick Fury rose from his chair at the other end of the room and cleared his throat "Spider Man, remove your mask. It is the reason we are all here after all and I'm sure you have places to be." He looked annoyed at even a few small minutes of his time being wasted in waiting.
"O-Oh yeah," Peter waited for Tony to press a button making all the window automatically close and black out before taking off his mask, not wanting any nosy paparazzi to see what was about to happen. Peter revealed a messy mop of dark brown hair, similar shade of brown eyes and a young face. Not surprising since he was fifteen years old "Hi i'm Peter"
"A kid. Tony," Steve turned to the arrogant billionaire, severely pissed off at the fact he had almost beaten up a minor back in Berlin "You hired a kid?"
"In my defense he was already Spider-Man before i got to him, all I did was upgrade his tech." Tony raised his hands in defense.
"And give him an internship," Bruce piped up from his chair and looked over at Peter "I've seen you before around the labs with an internship badge with the highest level of access."
"Well, surprisingly, the kids pretty smart" Tony looked for Peter's file on his laptop.
"C-Can i go now? Aunt May might wonder where... never mind." he trailed off and just fiddled with the mask in his hands.
Tony asked JARVIS to display the file in the new holographic device implanted in the center of the long table and the adults looked intrigued at the information displayed. All except for Wanda.
She knew how strange it was to be new in the team more than anyone and could see the kids discomfort so she came up with a quick plan. It was risky and could possibly dissolve into a fight but if she'd learnt one thing about spending time with the Avenger is that risky plans are usually the best and most interesting to use.
"Hey Thor," She held back a smirk as everyone in the room turned to look at her "I can sense Loki downstairs stealing your pop tarts."
Thor jumped up then sprinted out of the room to protect his favorite snack, Bruce followed after him to stop another sugar-high incident (that's an entirely different story), Natasha & Clint joined them knowing it would be funny to watch (and that Wanda had lied, but they didn't care about that) giving Peter the perfect chance to slip his mask back on, open the window and before swinging home send Wanda a look of gratitude.
All in all, things could of gone worse for the little Spider-Kid.
