"Peter, get the door for me!" She called out to her son, who happily got down from the table where he had been playing on his phone and practically skipped to the door. Mary bustled around in the kitchen, doing her best to stay on top of it all. That day was a big day, there was no room for failure.

"Coming!" Peter called out to whoever had rung the bell, grabbed the door handle and swung it open in excitement.

Ned, Michelle, Gwen and Harry grinned at him, crowded on the doorstep, each holding either a wrapped box or a small gift bag. Peter led them into the house, directing them to discard their bags by the dining table and they all sat down in the living area. Michelle joined Peter, the two of them sharing an armchair, her head leaning on his shoulder.

"Is your aunt and uncle here yet?" Harry asked. He had lived quite close to them before his father moved them away for his job, in that time they had become quite close neighbors, the Osborne's had even invited the Parker's around for tea every other week.

"Yeah, they're upstairs unpacking their suitcases. Mum said they're going to stay for a few days and they'll look after me while her and my dad go on that trip they've been talking about." Peter slid an arm around MJ's waist. Throughout the eight months they had been together, they had become rather close and it was hard for anyone to picture one without the other.

"Sweet, I'll have to persuade my dad to bring me around for May's world famous apple pie." Harry chuckled, bringing his legs up and dropping them across Ned's lap, much to his friends annoyance.

"Boys," Gwen warned the two immature idiots she (for some reason) decided to stick around. She was sat between them, but not on the couch cushions, instead on the back of the couch crossed-legged "If you start fighting, I swear to god, I will ask Mrs Parker to not give you any of the cake I can smell from the kitchen."

"You wouldn't dare." Ned looked aghast at the thought of being withheld cake, one of Mary Parkers' specialties. You haven't lived until you've tried her triple layer chocolate fudge cake.

"Try me nerd boy."

"Food's ready!" Mary called over to the teenagers, immediately setting off their race to the table. Having of heard her voice, Richard walked down the stairs, May and Ben not too far behind.

Richard planted a quick kiss on his wife's cheek "It looks incredible, Mary, you've outdone yourself." He looked over her shoulder at the immaculate food she had been slaving over for the entire morning.

"Nice try Richard, go sit at the table and watch over the kids, we don't want another minor explosion." She joked, lightly hitting her spatula over her husband's head and giving him a small shove over to the dining room table.

He sat down in between his son and brother, messing up Peter's hair as he slid into the vacant seat, much to his kids protest "What's up kiddos?"

"Oh god, please stop." Peter groaned, though the smile on his face was undeniable, and leaned his head backwards onto the back of the chairs.

"What? Am I not down with the kids?" Richard beamed. If there was one thing he always loved, above all else, it was annoying his son.

"Please, god, no more." Peter was about to nudge his dad, but he was crippled with a splitting headache. He hissed in pain, clutching at his head as it seared in pure agony.

"Pete? Are you okay?" Mary had been carrying a dish over to the table, but she put it down the moment she saw her child in pain.

"Y-Yeah, mum, I-I'm fine." His vision went out of focus and his arms began to feel heavier, to the point it was as if they were weighing him down.
