PETER IS 'INSANE' (1/2)

A long time ago, May had passed meaning Peter was thrust into the care of some very distant aunt and uncles who had no desire to even meet him. They decided the easiest thing to do was to claim the thirteen year old was clinically insane and send him away to be locked up in an asylum. 

No matter how many times Peter tried to tell the doctors he wasn't mad and just wanted to leave, nothing changed. In fact claiming he was perfectly sane made it so much worse

Two years into his forced stay there he received a spider bite from a arachnid that had somehow made its way into the institution through the ventilation system. He barely managed to hide his new powers from the adults there. 

He even formulated an escape plan but for some reason, a voice in his head (not the crazy kind, more of his sense of morality) told him to stay as someone might come along who, like him, was falsely locked away.

It was a good thing he did, even if it took another year for that reason to show up.

For once Loki wasn't to blame for mind control ruining an Avengers life, Stark wasn't even sure who it was this time. At some point in the last week Pepper had been placed under a powerful strangers control and whoever it was had realized that Stark was trying to save her so they took action. Under a false identity, Tony was taken to a mental hospital by Pepper in the dead of night, claiming he was a crazed fan that was trying to steal her husbands life.

Not the best way to start of their marriage.

A month into his stay at the hell-hole, he was handed a note by one of the patients and at first he assumed it was the usual crayon drawing by some other adult. When he opened and read it, however, he changed his mind.

'I know you aren't lying when you say you're the real Tony Stark and I can help you get out of here. I'm in ward three and stay in the room with the yellow door. 

-Peter Parker.'

Ward three? That was where most of the teenagers stayed, so how on earth did the kid even know he was there? The nurses like to keep the age groups separated.

Peter was sitting on the small table in his room, throwing a small bouncy ball against the wall for fun (you might be able to tell there wasn't really much to do) when there was a knock on the door. He aimed the ball at the handle, opening it, and just about caught it when it came back.

Tony stepped through the door to see a boy on a table. He had messy brown hair that was just past his ears (the nurses never liked cutting it), dark brown eyes with dark bags under them and wore plain black clothes. It was essentially the same outfit all patients and inmates were given.

"Peter Parker?" Tony asked, hoping he had gotten the right room. He wasn't in the mood to have to explain to the nurses why he was in a crazy child's room.

"That's me. I can't even guess how you got in here by the way, did S.H.I.E.L.D finally get bored of your antics?" He laughed to himself, chucking the ball onto his bed and sat on his chair.

"How do you know about S.H.I.E.L.D?" Stark was wondering if this was a good idea, he had no idea who Peter really was. The kid could be an escaped HYDRA Agent hiding in the asylum for all he knew.

"My parents used to work there before they were killed on a mission. When I was little I found one of the files from S.H.I.E.L.D, my dad wasn't the best at keeping them under lock and key," Peter shook off the sad memories of spending time with his parents and got back to the job at hand "It's not that important, do you want to get out of here or not?"

Tony nodded, relieving Peter. This was his chance to get out of there and start a new life, a new happy life. He might even be able to visit his parents, aunt and uncles graves.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~MEANWHILE IN THE AVENGERS TOWER~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Pepper was in tears, Bruce had finally managed to lift the strange enchantment but she couldn't remember anything from the last few months. When she tried it was like there was TV static in her head. Steve had asked her where Tony was but she had no idea and the CCTV cameras and phone records had been wiped clean. It had to of been mind controlled-Pepper who had done that, she was the only one who had the clearance to do so (apart from Tony).

Bruce was trying desperately to track down his missing science bro but he was having little to no luck.

It was going to take a miracle to bring Tony back to them.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~BACK AT THE ASYLUM~-~-~-~-~-~-~

The plan was relatively simple. Peter had bribed one of the other patients down the hall in his ward (with his bouncy ball since he wouldn't need it anymore) to make noise, giving time for him to climb into the vents. It was located in the ceiling so he had to use the strange webs he could shoot out of his wrists to get there. 

Next he had to find Stark's room then kick out the vent cover. It scared Tony to no ends when the metal covering smashed onto his floor and he was terrified when a web-like material pulled him up into the ventilation system. He'd never admit it, but he did possibly let out an unmanly shriek.

Once Peter finished chuckling at him, he guided Tony through the vents until they reached the roof. They stood for a few seconds, taking in their surroundings. 

The stars were out in the night sky, a sight Peter hadn't seen in six years. He would forgotten what stars were if he hadn't been clinging onto the memory of staying up with his parents on New Years Eve.

"Hey kid," Stark's voice brought Peter back to the present "You okay?"

"Yeah. It's just been a while since I've been outside."

"How long?"

"Six years," Peter answered and walked to the edge of the roof "Six very long years but that doesn't matter right now. Lets get you back to your friends."

I'm pretty proud of part one to this short story and i hope you enjoyed reading it! The second part is in the making, there will be a few chapters in between.
