Chapter 8.

Ok so yeah this chapter went a little random but hey I hope you enjoy it H x

~Ashton's P.O.V~

When Sam asked me to stay over I was immediately shocked but said yes because this was the next step in our relationship. I left her to deal with Darcey whilst I went home to get my stuff, practically running to the car and speeding off down the road.

~Sam's P.O.V~

Ashley was out tonight, catching up with some friends that were over from Australia so that's why I asked Ashton to stay over. Don't get me wrong, I was still nervous and wary about the whole thing but I thought it was a good idea. I had to get Darcey to bed but when I looked around she was nowhere to be seen. I ran up to her room and saw her fast asleep on the sofa she has in her room. It was a pretty long, full-on day so I'm not surprised that she was spark out. I decided not to bathe her tonight so I changed her into her pjs and sort of brushed her teeth before tucking her up in bed and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

~Ashton's P.O.V~

I sped down the highway to try and get home as quick as possible so that I could spend the most amount of time with Sam. It was now starting to rain so I turned my lights on full and started the wind-wipers off. I slowed down as I got to a corner but went I went round, I lost control and went hurtling up onto the sidewalk and the next thing I knew everything was black.

My eyes began fluttering open when I heard the sound of an ambulance near me. I turned my head, groaning in pain and saw what I had crashed into. A tree. At least I hadn't flipped over. I saw the flashing blue lights from the corner of my eye and turned to try and see through the dark. A man in green ran over to the side of the car. "Hi mate, you alright?" I shook my head.

"Not sure." I muttered.

"Right, just stay still mate and the fireman are gonna come and get the door off for you and then we'll get you out alright?" I nodded slightly. I had ruined my night with Sam and I had no way of telling her.

~Sam's P.O.V~

It had been almost an hour and Ashton still hadn't returned. I was beginning to get worried. The rain was coming down quite heavily now and he was driving home. I decided to call his mobile and see where he was.

~Ashton's P.O.V~

The men had finally got me out of the vehicle and had put me on a stretcher when I felt a buzzing in my pocked. My phone. "Excuse me. Excuse me." I managed to squeeze out. The man from the ambulance came over. "My girlfriend is ringing, please answer it. Front jean pocket." He got the phone out and began talking to her. God I was such an idiot. "She's on her way to the hospital now. We better get going."

~Sam's P.O.V~

I couldn't believe what just happened. Ashton had been in a car accident. Whilst rushing home to get some stuff. I had to take Darcey with me because I was the only one home. I grabbed my handbag and threw everything in it before running upstairs to Darcey's room. She was fast asleep. I hated doing this to her. I picked her up out of her cot and put her coat and boots on over the top of her onesie. I placed a hat on her head and picked up her nappy bag before grabbing my handbag and running out the door.

Darcey was still asleep when we got to the hospital. I got her out of the baby seat and ran inside the hospital. I ran straight up to the reception and breathlessly began speaking to her. "Ashton Irwin. Car crash. What floor?" She soon gave me the floor and the room and I ran straight upstairs.

~Ashton's P.O.V~

I was surrounded by beeping and doctors who were checking on me. I was sat up in the hospital bed, I only escaped with minor injuries so I was lucky. Then someone ran past the window and through the door. Sam. And Darcey. "Ashton." She said out of breath. She ran over and gave me a kiss. It was desperate. Needy. Like she didn't know what state I would be in when she got here. We pulled back and I saw the tears falling from her eyes. "I'm so glad...You're OK." Her breath hitches whilst she speaks as the tears fall more. "I'm...so...sorry."

"It's not your fault." I whispered because my throat was dry and my voice was hoarse. "It had nothing to do with you...it was me in the car...my fault...." I cupped her face with my hands and she did the same to mine before our lips connected again. I heard a faint sound coming from the chair by the door, Darcey was stirring. I didn't realise that Sam brought her. Then again, she was home alone with her.

"Let me get her." Sam said and walked over to the sleepy child. "Hey sweetie." She whispered whilst pushing a strand of hair out of Darcey's eyes.

"Mumma, where are we?" I heard Sam sigh before answering.

"We're at the hospital. Daddy's been in an accident. But he's ok." She sat up alarmed and got off the chair and ran over to me.

"Daddy!" I could see the tears forming in her eyes. I let my hand fall off the side of the bed, brushing her face slightly before moving down to grab her hand.

"Don't cry sweetheart, I'm ok. Just in a little pain that's all." Before Darcey could reply, Sam picked her up and the nurse walked in.

"Hi. Sorry to bother you but I have to do some checks. How are you?" I shrugged.

"Just in pain really. I've been moving my body about but it hurts." She nodded.

"Well you don't have any broken bones or internal bleeding, you do have bruises and a sprained ankle but you'll be able to go home tomorrow. Have you used crutches before?" I nodded. "Right well, we'll get them the right height for you tomorrow before you leave and then you can go home." She smiled at me and Sam before heading out the door, leaving us together.

~Sam's P.O.V~

Today was the day Ashton was going home. To my house. Ashton was coming to stay at mine so I could take care of him. I refused to let anyone else do it. No offence to the boys. I put Darcey in the back of the car, along with the bags and helped Ashton get into the passenger seat. "Easy does it. There you go." He sighed as he finally sat down. "You're alright." I rested my hand on his shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile. I then got into the car and we headed off home.

"Darcey! Go in first. Go on. In!" She ran past and up the stairs to her room. I helped Ashton to the sofa so that he could sit down. "Right you need to rest." She plumped up the pillows so that I could lie down.

"Thanks for this."

"It's honestly not a problem. You are my other half after all." I gave him a weak smile.

"You need to sleep. You look awful." I raised an eyebrow.

"Gee thanks."

"No I didn't mean it li-" I cut him off with a kiss.

"I know what you meant. But I need to look after you." After putting Darcey to bed for a nap, I came back to see that Ashton was fast asleep on the sofa. I sat down next to him on the floor, intertwined our fingers together, rested my head on the edge of the sofa and slowly went off to sleep, forgetting all the horror of last night.
