Chapter Ten:
Change
The room was silent, except for the sobs that escaped from my mouth every so often.
Louis had a tight grip on my hand, showing me that he was there, and I wasn't alone.
Doctor Andy was looking away. No emotion on his face, like he had told many people those words before. Like it was no big deal. But it was.
I sat for a moment thinking about what this meant, not just for me, but for Louis. One Direction.
I wasn't going to make him choose me over those boys. His brothers.
So much can change, in just a matter of minutes.
Change. The word that seemed used way to often lately. Something that I didn't want to ever have to hear again. I don't like change. It means something new, and something new isn't always good.
Doctor Andy broke the silence.
"Of course there's things we can do to help you. This doesn't always mean death. I'll send you everything you need to know."
He paused, "Don't be scared Laurie. Being scared, won't help you. Being strong and positive will. Louis is here for you, and so am I. You aren't alone."
I looked down at the white tile on the floor.
I raised my head and turned to Louis, looking into his eyes. He nodded his head.
I let go of his hand and pulled him into a hug.
"There's one thing that will never change,"
He whispered into my ear,
"My love for you Laurie."
