By nighttime, Yu Hao was feeling a lot better, and so Zi Xuan drove him to the Wang's house. It was fairly large, as it housed two young men in love and their family of three. Zi Xuan pulled up on the side of the curb, jumping out and walking to the door, Yu Hao not far behind.
Zhen Wen opened the door, his hair done nicely, wearing a green button up. "Hey, thank you so much for coming." He smiled, stepping to the side so Zi Xuan could come in.
"No problem." Smiled Xuan.
"Yu Hao, thank you for tagging along. I wasn't sure you would come." He smiled, giving them both a nod. "We will have to interview some babysitters, and then we were planning to go on a date, if it all goes well." Zhen Wen was taken by surprise as his husband wrapped his arms around his waist, smiling at Zi Xuan and Yu Hao.
"Not, 'if all goes well'. We're going out no matter what." He kissed Zhen Wen's cheek.
Zhen Wu was very shameless when it came to showing affection. Yu Hao remembered going on dates with them when they weren't married yet. It would almost be embarrassing how clueless they were. No matter how many people glared rudely at them for making out in public, or how many 'oohs' and 'ahhs' came from teen girls, they hardly took their eyes off each other. Yu Hao vowed after that day to never go out with them again.
"Have the kids in bed by nine. We bought groceries today so you can look around for something to make for dinner." Yu Hao nodded, and the couple quietly made their way out the door.
Zhen Wen and Wu had three kids. One boy, eight years old, who they had adopted a year after they got married. A five-year-old girl who they had found and taken in. And their newest addition, a three-year-old boy.
As soon as the front door closed, Ci Ci came running down from her room upstairs, smiling widely. "Uncle Yu Hao!" She latched onto his leg, hugging him tight. "I missed you! You never come over anymore."
"I know, I've been busy." He patted her on the back, making her pull away. She pouted up at Zi Xuan.
"Are you uncle's boyfriend?" She asked, completely serious. Zi Xuan laughed nervously.
"No, no, I'm just his friend." Turning his head, he was able to see Yu Hao's blushing face, smirking slightly. That wouldn't be the first time tonight.
"Where's your brothers?" He asked, making a tall boy cradling a baby in his hands walk in from the kitchen. Yu Hao was taken aback. "Yin Jie! You've gotten so big!" Zi Xuan took the child from him as the boy went to embrace Yu Hao.
"Because you never come over!" He joked, smiling widely at both men. "Who are you?"
Zi Xuan was about to say something, but Yu Hao interjected. "He's my friend. He's just helping out because I'm a little sick."
Zi Xuan looked down at the baby cradled in his arms, smiling at it. He couldn't lie. The little guy was adorable, even though he was squirming in Zi Xuan's grip. Zi Xuan put him down and he promptly ran towards the kitchen.
Yin Jie followed, scooping the boy up, which made him giggle, while Ci Ci pulling on Yu Hao's hoodie sleeve, begging him to go play dolls with her.
He agreed, and she took him up to her room. When he entered, he had to blink, because the amount of bright yellow hurt his eyes.
She had a huge window in the back of the room, and every wall was painted yellow. Her single bed's sheets looked like a lemon, and she had a brown wooded cupboard on the wall, which was home to many toys and dolls. Next to that was a play table and chairs and a china tea set. A walk-in closet completed the room, along with a mirror.
He hardly had time to gawk because he was pulled to the floor in a single second, a tiara being placed on top of his head. "You're a pretty princess!" Smiled Ci Ci, sitting opposite of him.
Yu Hao laughed, feeling himself lighten up. She handed him a tea cup and saucer, picking up the kettle and pretending to pour a liquid in it. He smiled at her, picking it up and taking a polite 'sip'.
She laughed at him. "Not like that, silly!" She reached over, pushing his pinky so that it was pointed upwards. "Real princess drink with their pinky up."
He nodded, taking another fake sip. "Of course. I'm still training to be a princess, you know." His joke made her laugh, gaped teeth glinting in the falling sun.
The door opened slowly and Zi Xuan stepped in, putting his hand on Yu Hao's shoulder. "Hey, princess."
Yu Hao twirled around in an instant, pushing Zi Xuan's hand off of him. "Don't f... don't call me that." He held the swear back, blushing at the time of Zi Xuan's voice when he had said that
"Fine. I just wanted to tell you. The boys and I are gonna watch a movie."
Yu Hao stood up. "Ci Ci and I will join. You probably need help setting up the TV anyway."
Zi Xuan shrugged. "Sure." But the smirk on his face from Yu Hao's flustered-appearance was clear as day.
