Blinking up I don't recognise the ceiling above me, surely heaven would have ornate patterns painted on its ceilings and not grubby slashes of god knows what on tiles? Ahh well, it's quiet at least,

"Darcy? Baby can you hear me?" Well shit I spoke to soon. I pull my head to my left and see Cara sat on a chair huddle into her knees that were pulled up to her chin. Her eyes wide, she moves over to me. She's been crying, why?

"Cara what the fuck is going on? Where am I?" My voice is hoarse and it sounds like I've been kicked in the throat. Her look goes from sadness to terror as she sprints out of the room and screams down what I'm assuming is a hallway,

"Doctor?! Someone?! She's awake but something's not right?!" Doctor? I'm in hospital? I glance down at my body which is covered in bandages and tubes. I pull my hand to my ribs, visions of a foot kicking my stomach spring hazily in my mind. I move my hand up to my face, my fingers skimming over rough patches and swollen bumps landing on something..stitches on my chin. Visions of fists pummelling into my face appear. In a whirlwind it all comes rushing back, Foster. I'd left him, I did it. But what damage had he caused. Shit! My eyes scanning around every square inch of the hospital room,frantic in their search for dead black eyes. Was he here, oh fuck, he would come for me..

My own scream deafened my ears as I thrashed on my bed, I needed to get these tubes and wires out. He would find me here. I barely recognise the doctors attempting to restrain my wild limbs. I barely noticed the blood seeping from my bandages on my ribs. I did notice the needle stabbed in my arm, oozing my sleep back to my eyes. The last thing I see is Cara sobbing into the arms of an older lady I don't recognise.
