Hudson
What the fuck was that? We were locking eyes like most people lock tongues. But it felt better, it felt right. But she abandoned my eyes for some lemonade and bourbon, I knew instinctively who's drinks she was pouring, but she knew before I did, she heard my pas bike. Who the fuck was this girl and why had she gotten into my parents hearts like she was their blood? I needed to find more out about this girl, but today was not the day to be asking prying questions. I'd find out from some of the regulars and a few bits from my folks, I sure as shit wasn't asking nothing from her even crazier friend, who looked like she was gonna claw my eyes out and feed em to me, no no, that bitch was after my best assets, but it was oddly comforting to know Darcy had a hot Rottweiler ready to pounce on anyone who upset her girl.
My folks walked in, and the few people that were drinking got up, paid their condolences and left, leaving the five of us in a chilling silence. Hot friend was the first to speak up as my folks sipped their drinks Darcy had poured,
"Mabs, Mitch, me and D will finish clearing up then will be out of your way, if there is anything else we can do to make today easier for you then you know all you have to do is ask, we love you both" .. So hot friend has a soft side, good to know she's not all steel. I watched my parents wave her offer off and hugged her as Darcy rounded the bar to squeeze my dad as hard as she could, my dad never hugged a soul apart from my ma, not even me. I shoved my jealousy back down and stood up.
"Ma, Pa, we best be going, it's a drive to the cemetery, and I was hoping to pick some flowers up on the way." I didn't want or need the sympathetic looks from Darcy or hot friend (who's name I still need to learn) and stalked out of the bar and over to my rental car I has seen as I rode my bike down here. I just wanted to get this over and done with, I was dreading it. I knew I'd be in a sorry ass state as it was my fuckin fault today is even an important day. I knew I'd need some liquid courage, so I dashed into the off licence across the road and bought the finest bourbon they sold and hid it in my boot, I didn't need to add another worry to my folks shitty day.
I watched Darcy and friend walk put of the bar arm in arm and over to a tin can on wheels a few cars down from me. Even from here her eyes had me watching, well that and her ass, I'm still a red blooded male after all. They rolled down the windows and started hammering out a song about chemicals and radioactive nonsense, so loud I swore every panel of the fucking car was gonna fall off and leave em looking like the fucking flinstones. But none the less, they took off down the road, I could hear the music and their voices long after they were gone from my sight.
