*ADOPTED*~Seven~

When we got off the plane we only had to sit on one of the benches and wait for a little while until Sandy came around the corner on her phone letting Rachel and Chloey know that she found us and would be heading their way very soon. As soon as she was off the phone with them she squealed with happiness and excitement as she wrapped around us both and welcomed us to Vegas where all new beginnings were possible! Then as she stepped away she introduced herself to AJ and said she was told all about him, and that she was so happy to finally meet him.

Then she held out her hand and asked him if he would like to go meet two more of his mommy's old friends that were dying to meet him as well. AJ looked up at me asking me with his eyes if it was ok to take her hand, I rubbed his head and told him it was ok. I gave Sandy another hug and told her not to take his insecurities personally, that he's always been that way around all strangers. Sandy gave his hand a playful squeeze and said not a problem, and added that it was probably a good thing in the long run for him to be insecure and unsure around strangers.

Sandy walked us around the block where she had her car parked and asked if AJ and I would like to take the scenic route to Chloe's house, so we both could take in some sites before we got there. AJ was all over the backseat looking out all the windows seeing all the pretty lights and designs they made when they flickered. I looked around and noticed even though the sun was going down, the city wasn't settling down at all. Then I looked thru the rearview mirror and asked her if Las Vegas was the right place to raise a child beens it was so wild, loud, and active all the time. Sandy snickered at me as she said if she and Krysten could do it, so could I. I looked at her in slight shock as I said she had a kid!

Sandy smiled at me and said she had two kids and a wonderful new boyfriend that she just started dating not two weeks ago. I looked down and asked her what happened to the kid's daddy. She without hesitation told me she drop kicked his ass right when she caught him fondling another woman while she was out shopping...and came home just a little earlier then she planned. Then she slowed down at the stop light and looked at me and said very happily that in this city it was very easy to get a great guy at an awesome bargain price and guaranteed to be better than every woman's ex.

I laughed as I told her she really needed to drop that subject, because I just got out of a bad and fucked up relationship, and wasn't interested in getting into another one at the moment. Sandy saw the light went green and she drove off again and said I needed to have a man in my life and it would also be better for AJ having one around to look up to and learn from. Then she said that's why she found another boyfriend that was willing to be a father figure for her two kids, Seth and Skylar. I turned off the stereo and asked her if she really knew there were so many men our there that was willing to raise and love another man's child with a young and available woman. Sandy stopped the car a little quickly and looked at me as if I just said something that was incredibly unheard of, and said yes there were many good men in this city that would love to have a beautiful lady like me in their life and help raise AJ, because he was such a sweet and adorable lil boy...not to mention extremely quiet and very well mannered.

We finally came to a complete stop in the parking lot of a very nice house, but I wasn't sure if we were there or not so I waited to see what Sandy was going to do. She took off her safety belt and looked at me and said with a smile that we were at Chloe's and it was safe to get out of the car. I took AJ out of the car and held him close to me as I told him we were finally there, but he looked at the house then down at his feet. I kissed him on the head and told him that we were just staying with my friend until I got things under control and we found a place of our own. Sandy grabbed our bags from the trunk and said that Chloe was still at work and that she had the key to let me in with, then she was told to tell me to make myself at home and she would talk with me when she came home, unless I was asleep, then it would wait until morning.

Sandy unlocked the door and turned on the lights, then she took me to the room I would be staying in and sat our bags on the floor at the foot of the bed, then showed us where the bathroom was and the kitchen. After I got my bearings on the layout of the house, she gave me another hug and said she would love to stay with me until Chloe came home, but she had to get home to her boyfriend and kids, because there was no telling what happened while she was away from the house for that long, because sometimes her boyfriend was more of a wild kid then her real kids, and he provoked a lot of their naughty behaviors. I gave her another hug and thanked her for coming after us, then I picked up my sleepy lil man and took him into the bedroom and we both konked out before we got into our pj's.
