*ADOPTED*~Eight~

Chloe didn't make it home until well after 1:00 in the morning so she tiptoed past my room and glanced in just to see me, then she went to her room, and crashed until 9 or 10 in the morning. AJ was sleeping right beside me all curled up under the blankets with his bunny tightly wrapped in his arms, I felt him tremble and knew he was either cold or scared, so I rolled over close to him & wrapped my arm around him to make him feel more secure. He stopped trembling and we both went back to our restful sleep. That was until I was rudely awakened by my phone going off, I looked at the digital alarm clock on the nightstand and when I saw that it wasn't even 7 am yet I grabbed my phone and put it on silence all mode, but not before seeing who was calling me...and of fucking course it was my dumbass ex-husband harassing me again already.

I went back to sleep for a little longer until AJ woke me up by rubbing my nose with his bunny's ear and whispering to me that it was get up time and he was hungry and needed to go potty, but was afraid to leave the room without me. I gave a sleepy groan as I stretched a little bit and told him I was awake and getting up with him. I went thru his baggie with his clothes and got him dressed, then I grabbed some comfy lounge around clothes and took him to the bathroom first, then we both went down to the kitchen to see what we could find for breakfast, but when we got to the kitchen I quickly jumped back out of the kitchen for there was a man in his underwear cooking eggs and bacon. AJ looked up at me and asked who he was, I was laughing on the inside from the recent sight I encountered but managed to tell my son I had no idea who he was.

Chloe came thru the front door carrying her mail, then dropped her car keys in the bowl on the counter before running over to me squeaking with happiness that I was finally here and that I woke up to face the morning with her. Then she knelt down and playfully gave AJ's nose a lil squeeze as she welcomed him to her home, and that she's been waiting a long time to meet him. AJ gave her skirt a slight tug and asked her who the nakey man was in her kitchen making breakfast. Chloe put a strange expression on her face as she went into the kitchen, by her reactions I think that maybe she didn't even know there was a man in her house at all. We all filed into the kitchen to see what was going on, but when Chloe saw who it was she gave a slight smile and told me not to worry that it was just Criss, her boss helping himself to her kitchen and her spare bedroom again.

I pulled her out of the kitchen before he could see any of us, and said I was asleep in the house with my child this entire time with a strange man that walks around and cooks in his underwear and had a key to her house! Chloey touched my shoulder and said it was fine, that he was completely harmless, and no he didn't have a key, because in his profession he didn't need one, for he could pick any lock or get out of any escape imaginable. I looked at her and asked her what she and her boss did for a living. Chloe pulled out the Vegas Times magazine and showed me the centerfold of her and her boss, during one of his nightly performances as she told me he was the world's greatest illusionist/stuntman/provocateur. Then she looked in the kitchen again and said but right now he was just a crazy bastard in his underwear cooking breakfast.

Chloe went into the kitchen again and asked him what in the hell was he doing here and cooking in his underwear again! Criss spun around and said rather honestly that he wasn't wearing any underwear, that he was wearing shorts, and that it was what he usually slept in. Then he filled several plates with food and said he woke up hungry and knew she had other guests so he decided to make breakfast for everyone. Then he walked around Chloe as he kissed her on the lips and said he would let her know from now on when he was going to appear and crash in the spare bedroom. When I saw him kiss her, a small hint of pain went thru me along with minor disappointment, thinking that she was not just working for him...that they were seeing each other on an off and on basis.

I did notice him looking at me off and on during our meal, but most of the time he was really having a blast with AJ...and for as oddly as it was, AJ just wouldn't leave him alone for a minute during the entire time he was there. I told him to stop pestering him a few times, but Criss said he wasn't bothering him at all, and that he really loved kids. But as soon as breakfast was over with, Criss stood up and cleared the table, then washed them up real fast and said he had to get going or he would be late for his own Meet 'N' Greet. But before he left, he held my hand and said it was nice meeting me, then he gave AJ a little plane ride and said it was very awesome meeting a cool lil man like him, and that he couldn't wait to see him again.

Then he gave me a slight wink with a debonair smile before he disappeared just like magic. Chloe tapped me on the shoulder and jokingly asked me if I had the hots for her boss. I looked right at her and said I wouldn't dream of taking her boss/boyfriend away from her. Chloe was now laughing her ass off at me as she told me that Criss wasn't her boyfriend, that they were strictly business that their flame disappeared a long time ago...then added colorfully that he was very single and available to any female that was strong enough to stay on for the ride. But I totally lied to her and said I wasn't interested in him at all.
