"Just who are they?" Sakuya the medic muttered, gently placing a hand on the boys head, checking his temperature.

"Dunno, but it sure looks like they've been through a lot." Lindow said,  leaning his back against the wall of the helicopter, staring at the young girls pale face, lying across from him.

"The boys wearing the bracelet,  so he's a God Eater, but he doesn't have his weapon." Sakuya considered thoughtfully, glancing at the red armlet the boy in white (well, mostly red stained clothes now) was wearing.

"Pfft. What God Eater is dumb enough to leave his god arc behind  like that? It's clearly almost cost the girl her life." Lindow scowled. He then brightened up. "Hey, she must've killed the vajra, without a god arc."

"But how...ugh whatever. I need to concentrate."

The boys body was responding to God Eater medicines Sakuya was quickly doling out, but the same couldn't be said for the girl.

They bandaged her up as best they could, but it was clear she would be needing to go to a hospital. She was bleeding heavily both internally and externally, her skin a sickly white.

The tense journey did however, end, and both children were taken into a regular Fenrir hospital immediately. But as soon as the doctors saw the young boy, they completely freaked out.

"Th-that's the Death God..." Followed by the sound of slamming doors.

Consequently, they were taken to Fenrir Far East Branches God Eater recovery ward, where the 'Death God' woke up.

Yeah. He was not happy to be back.

He was almost immediately recognised on security cameras, and got a visit from his dad and his scientist buddies. A/N YAY*^*(dead face)

When he arrived in the ward, the director decided not to enter straight away, but stood in the doorway, watching the test subject from a distance, knowing that the boy would have already noticed his presence.

And yet, the boy ignored him, sitting on a chair next to the bed of a young girl, who he had been told was named Lupa.

It was clear that the girl had been in a fight, and a bad one at that. Bandages ran up her upper half and she had a tube running through her arm.

Sure her state was cause for worry, but why would that affect Soma so much? He had never shown compassion before, in fact, he never showed any emotion other than hate usually.

And yet...

Soma sat in silence. I refuse to acknowledge him, I refuse, I refuse...

He stood up, startling his chair as he turned to the door, at the end of his patience, using his best glower as he faced the man he despised most in the world.

"Soma." the man greeted, nodding his head in mock respect, strolling into the room. He took a seat across from Soma and motioned for him to follow.

Soma clicked his tongue in annoyance before returning to his seat, eyes flicking towards Lupa. He could swear her breathing just sped up...

The director-Soma refused to acknowledge him as one of his kin- politely cleared his throat. "Soma, I am aware of your little escape, but I am afraid you simply cannot leave here. You are vital for the future of this world; yours is the most important role. I-"

"Shut up." Soma muttered, scowling at the floor. "Don't give me that bull. I'm just another pawn in your game. Stop sugar coating your words with lies..." She was definitely breathing now, her soft breathes were making the covers rise and fall.

"Hmph." ths director leant back with a smirk, that acted as a mask to cover the pain he felt.

Soma would never listen, never forgive him, and never try to understand why his father couldn't truly love him. The pain he felt every time he saw Soma would never leave him.

He continued, "Then you understand the situation. I'll be taking you back to the labs now."

Lupa's breath caught in her throat.

Lupa's POV

My first thought. Pain. A lot of it.

As I came back into consciousness, pain ran down my back and across my shoulder.

Then I felt warmth, and the quiet rumbling of a voice...Soma's voice. Then a second voice, similar to Soma's but older.

A sudden urge to act forced me fully into consciousness, I had a feeling that if I didn't get up now, I wouldn't have another chance to...do something important.

My eyes snapped open, my senses taking in my surroundings. Okay, that's wierd. Then everything came back to me. I was stranded, wingless.

Just as I was beginning to totally freak, a face came into view. White blond hair framed a deeply tanned face, aquamarine eyes meeting mine. Oh yeah. Hm...kinda cute.

I left his eyes to scan for the second voice and met with the eyes of a man. Less attractive, but probably high status. And from the way Soma was giving him the evils...

Yep, this was the guy I needed to talk to.

I tried to struggle into a sitting position, my wounds aching savagely with every movement, until Soma pushed me firmly down by the shoulders, frowning fiercely.

"Ah, your saviour finally awakens." the man smiled at me, making my stomach flip. Creepy.

"Hmph." Soma shifted a little, as though to shield me from him. "...Don't involve her."

"I want to thank you for saving my son, he is a valuable asset to our organisation and it would have been a heavy loss otherwise."

His son!?

"I am greatful to have been of help to you." I replied, outwardly calm. "My apologies, I believe we have not met before. My name is Lupa."

"Director Johannes Von Schicksal of the Fenrir Far East Branch." His mouth twitched in amusement at the level of formalities, though really he brought it upon himself, being so overly courteous.

Soma scowled beside me, clearly not approving of my formal interactions.Well, here I go.

"Sir, it's actually extremely fortunate that we could meet, as I was hoping I could discuss something with you, regarding Soma's current er...situation?" I could tell I was walking on thin ice by the sickly sweet look the director was giving me. I would have to choose my words carefully. Luckily, I had a lot of experience in the sweet talking department. I had once even convinced the sun to rise three hours later to give me a lie in (boom ya)

"Hmmm." the director simply muttered, glancing up at Soma. "I see, I see."See what? Oh, yon faaace? -_- (whatchalllookinat?)

"I suggest that we talk about this in detail in my office after you are fully recovered." he concluded. "As of tomorrow, Soma will be returning to his duties until further notice."

"Thank you, Sir..." I trailed off, watching the director exit the room, followed by men in white lab coats, leaving just me and Soma.

Me and Soma.

Shoot.

"..."

He's angry. Definitely angry.

"..."

Oh God. Here it comes.

"What the hell did you do that for?" he growled, turning his full angry stare onto me.

"I said I'd help you, right?"

"You can't trust him. He's a cunning manipulator that will just pull you into his mind games." Soma warned, folding his arms across his chest.

"But I've potentially got you a one way ticket out of here." I smirked, before tensing at the wave of pain burning across my body.

"...rest up, you'll need your strength." he said with a sigh, unable to come up with a good enough comeback.

I feebly stuck out my tongue at his retreating back.

I still won that. Sorta.
