Camila's POV
'I want you'
I looked at the screen of my phone for several minutes. At that moment I considered two possible options - either I could struggle with my issues and insecurities all by myself and eventually go bananas or I could struggle with my issues and insecurities becoming insane and at least be in good company and it was beyond doubt that Lauren surely was. After a long debate within me, I finally figured out what to do. My thumb was inches away from the send-button ready to press it when out of nowhere someone grasped my arm.
"Hey Mila, are you feeling better? I was just about to visit you, I was worried about you," I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up and saw that Liam was standing right next to me. I hadn't even noticed, but I was just a block away from my apartment.
"Oh hi Liam, I'm doing a little better, thanks! You didn't have to come see me this early, though, you could have just texted me," I said while I tried to figure out which white lie I would tell him if he asked me about last night to hide the fact that I ditched him to be with someone else. After all he was a nice guy and I didn't mean to hurt him.
"Yeah I considered texting you, but then I thought you might not answer," he said looking past me trying to avoid my eyes. He seemed to be concerned about something but I had no clue what it was.
"Why wouldn't I text you back?" I asked with a questioning facial expression.
"Well, the text you sent me last night saying that you were leaving was kinda...kinda harsh!? I assumed that you were mad at me and that's why I wanted to talk to you face to face." 'Fuck', I had totally forgotten that the text he got was written by a horny and probably jealous Lauren and I didn't even know exactly what it said.
"Uh that, yeah... don't take it too seriously, I felt sick and I was pretty tipsy. To be honest, I can barely remember what I wrote. So you really should forget about it. It wasn't my intention to be rude or something," I explained hoping Lauren's text wasn't too mean.
"Oh good, I'm relieved to hear that. Actually, I thought you were blaming me for leaving you alone when you obviously needed someone to take care of you. But to make amends for being a terrible fake boyfriend, I brought you coffee and donuts," he said apologetically lifting his right hand revealing a plastic bag full of deliciousness.
"You couldn't be a bad boyfriend, even if you tried to. I mean, you're holding a bag full of sweet temptation, there's nothing else a girl could ever ask for," I giggled with a wink.
"C'mon let's get inside and devour those donuts, I'm starving right now," I said heading toward my apartment. While we walked I was sincerely grateful for the fact that Liam, apparently, didn't give a shit about fashion, otherwise he would have noticed that I was still wearing the same dress from last night and that my blouse was practically buttonless due to Lauren's passionate way to undress me.
I opened the front door and wasn't surprised as loudly music donned making me hold my hands against my ears. Logan loved to crank up the music as loudly as the speakers allowed him to whenever he was on his own. Once he noticed us walking in, Logan turned down the music.
"Hey roomie, haven't seen you in a while. Did you have fun last night? I think so, considering th-" he was saying but stopped abruptly as he took notice of my widened eyes which were trying to tell him to shut the fuck up. He was on the right path to reveal my lies.
"Hey Logie, I left the apartment while you were sleeping. Anyways, this is Liam," I said pointing at Liam while I dropped my bag. They shook hands but I quickly grabbed Liam's arm and pulled him straight into my room. I would have stayed in the kitchen but I wanted to prevent Logan from saying anything stupid. I just hoped that Liam wouldn't get the fact that we were in my room as some sort of advances.
