Everyone was out.
And they all agreed this had to end. It had gone too far, and it hadn't even been two weeks. They still had a ways to go before Halloween.
The only one that could truly put a stop to this was Benjamin.
"I know you all want this to end, so it will. This isn't true. I made it up," he said.
Even though nobody believed him, everyone was shocked. Sure, he wasn't trustworthy, but making up something this serious, then letting it escalate as far as it had?
"Why?" Lucille asked. "I wanted to be scary," he replied. "So you make up stories? You had us all worried!" Molly yelled. "I know. I'm sorry," Benjamin said. "Don't do that again. Ever," Molly yelled. "You won't have to worry about this anymore," Benjamin said. He began to walk away until eventually disappearing.
Nobody knew that at that moment, he wanted someone to stop him. He wanted to hear that they would forgive him. But nobody said a word.
And he wouldn't come back until they did.
A/N: Surprised? Remember...we're going until Halloween, so we're not even halfway done...
Does anyone else feel bad for Benjamin though? I do. They have a reason to be mad, but he's a kid. Idk, maybe because he's based on a real person, which is making me think of him as real and that's making me pity him more.
I have a valid excuse for the short chapter. I just wrote a research paper and I've had enough writing for one day. At least I published something, right?
