There's nothing worse than lying.
But if you lie to protect someone? That's okay. And that's what Benjamin did.
The truth hurts, but the lie hurts more. And that's what they didn't understand.
This wasn't the outcome he anticipated. He didn't think he would be hiding, closer than they thought but distant enough where he no longer felt like part of the group. He never thought they would hate him.
He never thought he wouldn't be wanted back.
He watched from his hiding spot. Everyone was laughing and having fun, just like before. And he wished he could join, but he knew that once he did, the laughter would stop and the fun would turn to stares.
But who needs them?

"It's good to be back to how it used to be," Dorothy said with a smile. Everyone nodded in agreement. But they couldn't deny that something was missing. They all wished Benjamin was there. And why wouldn't they? He hadn't done anything worth banishment or hatred.
But nobody bothered to do anything about it.
And if they had...maybe things wouldn't have gotten as bad as they did.
A/N: Short again... I just need to figure out the direction for the story. Then we'll get longer chapters. And a cliffhanger... What do you think will happen?
