What they told her was exaggerated, but not untrue. They told her about the multiple lies Benjamin had told them in order to hurt someone. Yes, they were being hypocritical, since they were doing the same to him, but they all felt he deserved it.
Each story was worse than the last. They didn't care what it took. They wanted him gone. But Erela didn't believe them.
Finally, they brought it back to her mother. Erela knew that her mother abandoned them because of one particular ghost. She never suspected Benjamin, though. He seemed harmless. But they told her how he made up some story about her lying to them to gain their trust so she could profit off of them somehow. Nobody knew better, so they all believed it. From that point on, Erela's mother and the ghosts hated each other.
That was what got Erela on their side.
Of course, it wasn't entirely true. Yes, he did tell everyone that. But he didn't mean any harm. It was partially true. She simply suggested they start charging people to take tours through the cemetery. It wouldn't have hurt the ghosts in any way. He only misinterpreted it.
But Erela didn't know that.
She couldn't believe she was on their side. And she was expected to get rid of him. They suggested exorcisms or salting his grave, but she thought that was a little too much. She would start by telling him to leave, then go from there.
All that was left to do was wait.
A/N: Sooo tomorrow is going to be dramatic (and sad, if you like Benjamin)
