Erela decided to forget about the murders. After all, there was no solid proof, and nobody else believed it.
But still, a part of her did want to believe it. Maybe it was just her guilt. Because if it was true, she would never be able to recover from the guilt of knowing, but not doing anything.

Erela woke up early. She wasn't sure exactly how early, but the sun had barely risen. Nobody else was awake. She quietly went outside and walked a few feet behind the house, and opened the cemetery gate.
She looked around. Besides the usual ghosts, she was alone.
"What are you doing up so early?" Mary asked. She was sitting on her grave. Even in death, she was too tired to stand for longer periods.
"I couldn't sleep," Erela replied. "What's wrong?" Mary asked. "I've been thinking...about the murders," Erela replied. "Don't worry about that. I don't think it's true," Mary said. "Okay. Thank you, Grandma Mary," Erela smiled. "You're welcome."
Erela trusted Mary more than anyone else. If she said not to worry, she wouldn't. She couldn't, even if she tried.
"Why don't you believe me?"
Erela turned around. "Why?" Benjamin repeated. "It's not that, it's...I don't know if you understood. Nobody else heard it, and I can't handle something as serious as this with only one witness," Erela explained. "It's true," Benjamin said. He slowly turned around and walked away until he eventually disappeared.
Erela felt bad. She knew he was already upset, and if it was true...
It wasn't. There's no way.

"So, any updates on the murderer?" Alex asked. "Mary told me not to worry, so I won't. Until someone else has proof, there's no murder," Erela replied. "Okay, fair enough. So, end of the conversation?" Alex asked. "End of the conversation," Erela repeated.
Whether they wanted to or not, the conversation would have to end. Julia and Lily joined them. And they couldn't hear about this.
"We've been thinking...you're always asking us to come to the cemetery, so...on Halloween night, we will," Lily said. "Um...I-I..." Erela didn't know what to say. "Unless you don't want us to," Julia said. "No, I do. That sounds...great," Erela smiled. "Okay, we'll see you there," Lily said.
This wasn't good.
Erela said she wasn't going to worry, but she could be killing her best friends.
Until the murders were confirmed to be true, she couldn't tell them.
But it was going to be okay.
It wasn't true.

That night, Erela went back to the cemetery.
"Did anyone hear anything?" she asked. "No. Let it go," Dorothy replied. "It's not happening," Lucille agreed. "I saw them again," Benjamin said. "You did?" Erela asked. Benjamin nodded. "What happened?" Erela asked. "They were just passing. But they looked in. Almost like they were looking for something in particular," he explained. "That's it?" Erela asked. Benjamin nodded again.
"That's not helpful," Dorothy said. Everyone nodded. "Why doesn't anyone believe me?" Benjamin yelled.
This time, he didn't bother to run away. He just disappeared.
"Don't worry about him. Nothing is going to happen," Lucille said. "But we upset him," Erela said. "I'll talk to him," Mary offered.

Mary waited all night for Benjamin to come back. And finally, he did.
"Are you okay?" Mary asked. Benjamin nodded. He didn't even look up from what he was doing, which was examining a nearby tree. "It's not that we don't trust you. We're just not sure if you understood them," Mary said. "They said they were going to bring a gun and kill people." Benjamin grabbed a branch and began climbing. "We just need some more information, that's all," Mary smiled sweetly. "I know. Because what I saw isn't enough," Benjamin replied. "No, we just want another witness before we tell anyone. Do you know how much panic that would cause?" Mary asked. "Yes. That's why I told everyone," Benjamin replied.
After that, he decided the conversation was over and pretended he couldn't hear Mary.
A/N: Still shorter than I would like, but I'm out of time. TOMORROW!! I PROMISE!! Also, I feel bad for Benjamin. Even if he's lying, the poor kid just wants someone to believe him :(
