Welp, you have a fleshed out character and a really cool superpower and then you stare at the screen and think, "how did they get this power?"
And that is a good question. Every character that has a superpower, has a backstory for it.
1) Was it a freak accident? Maybe your character had radiation poisoning, fell off a building, was set on fire, almost drowned in a car accident etc.
To be clear, at the present, no MCU character can be a mutant. That might change now that Fox has been acquired by Marvel/Disney, but for now, we should keep it that way.
2) Were they experimented on? I would be wary with this one, as they're many cliches. Be careful if they were with HYDRA or in the Red Room
3)Did they just create their own superpower? This is like Iron Man or Pym who engineered their own
