When you give your character a superpower, that's all very well, but a whole book about a character who has no weaknesses because of their superpower... eh... people will start to lose interest if your character is invincible.
The first thing you do once you've picked your superpower is ask yourself how can it be defeated? What can stand against it? What are the drawbacks of this power? And anything else you think you should ask.
Because if it is unrivalled then people will never worry about your character being killed or hurt in any way and you'll lose a considerable amount of readers as well as one of the best aspects of your story.
However, there is one thing that is almost constantly being used as a weakness, and that is the fact that the character can rarely control their powers. It could be because the power is eating them alive or because it bursts out when they get angry, but everyone always seems to use this as a plot device.
Even I admit to using it in at least two of my plots.
For awhile it was fun, but now it's a little old (although, I welcome you to use it if you can find a unique way) and it's always nice to have a character who can control their powers not long after getting them. I mean, not everyone's power has to be some evil force inside of them, it could be friendly and eager to help instead.
All I'm saying is don't make your character untouchable because it's hard to worry about a character who can't be hurt.
Give them their kryptonite (lol I should really have made an MCU reference instead of a DC one...) make them have a weakness. Make them human, mortal, even if they're an alien from space or something.
