Chapter 16: Twins

Third Person's POV

Skylar went to take her plate of food from Rebekah but it slipped through their fingers. As Skylar tried to quickly grab it she gasped in pain as the babies broke her back and fell to the floor as everyone in the house rushed at her and Emmett caught her head before she hit the ground.

Rebekah, Hayley, Jacob, Jared, Emmett, and Elena quickly rushed Skylar to Carlisle's office and set her on the hospital bed.

"Rebekah, pass the morphine." Emmett asked as Elena was on the phone with Carlisle.

"Carlsile said the placenta must have detached." Elena frowned as Emmett gave Skylar the morphine. "He's coming as fast as he can, but..."

"We have to do it." Rebekah said grabbing the scalpel.

"Bekah! Let the morphine spread." Hayley said grabbing her hand.

"There's no time! They're dying!" Rebekah hissed.

"Do it! Get them out! Now!" Skylar panicked at the thought of loosing her babies.

"Sky look at me." Jacob said as Hayley let Rebekah cut Skylar's stomach for an emergency c-section, which caused Skylar to scream in pain.

Rebekah pulled her hand back and saw Skylar's blood, not able to control her thirst.

"Rebekah, don't!" Emmett panicked causing Jared to tackle her away from Skylar.

"Elena, Hayley get her out of here!" Emmett ordered as he turned to his wife.

"Bekah!" Skylar panicked as Hayley grabbed Rebekah by her neck and Elena grabbed her by her arms, dragging her away.

"Save her! You have to save her!" Jacob demanded as he saw Skylar screaming in more pain.

"I can't, not while they're still in there." Emmett shook his head. "I have to get them out first."

"Stay, Sky. Stay focused. Keep your heart beating!" Jacob encouraged as Skylar closed her eyes, going in and out of consciousness.

"No! They're suffocating!" Skylar cried out causing Emmett to lean down and bite past the hard skin, breaking the womb open causing Skylar to scream again.

Skylar then gasped when Emmett leaned back and brought the two babies up after cutting the umbilical cords as they cried.

"Hey. Hey, hey." Emmett soothed then looked at Sky with a big smile. "It's Faith and Luna."

Skylar smiled as she started cry. "They're so beautiful."

Jacob and Jared smiled at the sight as Emmett gave Skylar the twins to hold but instantly frowned when one of the babies bit her, causing Emmett to grab them both.

Skylar looked at her babies with a final smile before her face fell expressionless as her heart stopped beating.

"Sky? Skylar?!" Jacob panicked.

"Skylar?!" Jared shook her then started CPR as Emmett grabbed two towles and wrapped the babies.

"Jared, Jacob, take the babies." Emmett said.

"Keep those away from us!" Jacob growled as Jared continued CPR.

"Emmett, we'll take them." Rebekah said as her and Hayley walked in and Emmett looked at her skeptically. "I promise I'm okay. Let us."

Emmett nodded and handed off his two daughters before turning back to his wife.

"I have an idea." Emmett mumbled as he grabbed a needle.
