Chapter 25: Projecting Gifts

Narration:

Everyone showed courage. Though we knew that Aro's army was moving against us. Soon we woulds face the dark gifts of Jane. And worse, the paralyzing vapor of her brother Alec, who could rob you of sight sound and touch.

The Next Morning
Skylar's POV

Everyone was in the livingroom discussing with Carlilse what might go down.

"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks." Edward explained. "Jane and Alec will try to take me out first because I can anticipate their every move."

"Too bad we don't all have your sheild." Marcel said lookimg at Bella.

"Doesn't help me fight though." Bella shruggs.

"No, but you could help the rest of us if you could project it." Tanya spoke up.

"What do you mean?" Bella asked.

"She means sheild someone other than yourself." Davina spoke up. "If you think about it, your gifts are like magic. For witches if you practice with the magic you have, you will start to get better. Maybe it's the same for vampire gifts as well."

"Is that possible?" I asked.

"Gifts can be developed over time." Carlisle nodded.

"At first, mine was in my palms. Now I can radiate it all over my body." Kate nodded.

"How do you do it?" Bella asked as Kate let out a sigh making Bella grab her hand. "Tell me."

"Uh, ow." Kate said.

"Sorry." Bella said letting go.

"Come on." Kate guestured out side then looked at me. "You too, with so many powers it'd be good to control them."

I got up and others followed us out to the back yard as well.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moved, what color it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you." Kate instructed, but Bella and I sighed when it didn't work. This caused her to look over at Emmett and Edward."I think they needs something to motivate them."

Edward and Emmett nodded standing infront of us.

"No." Bella denied.

"It's okay." Edward said. "We can take it."

"He says that now." Garrett commented.

"Focus guys, or he'll be hurting." Damon added.

"Guys, we're not ready to do this." I said but they didn't listen and ended up getting shocked, dropping to their knees looking up at us in pain and with the 'really?' look. "I'm sorry, we said that we weren't ready."

"Guys, you're not motivating her." Connor stated.

"Do you wanna try?!" Emmett snapped at his little brother, causing Connor to raide his hands up in full surrender.

Bella and I tried it again.

"Ah!!! Ahhh!!!" The boys yelled as she put it on the pressure points in their neck, making them drop to their knees again.

"Kate!" Bella hissed as we both glared at her.

"You seem to lack incentive." Kate said. "Should I see if your girls are awake?"

"Are you crazy?!" I growled, taking a threatening step forward and Damon and Garrett quickly held me back.

"Skylar, calm down." Damon warned. "Your eyes changed again."

I sighed taking a deep breath and nodded, taking a step back as they backed off to the sides again.

"Alright, this one's on full power." Kate said raising our hand and we put all of our focus into it. And when Kate touched them, they never went down and Kate pulled her hand back.

"It's painful, but it's bearable." Edward said smiling at us.

"Okay, we should go again." Bella smiled.

"Connor?" Emmett asked causing Connor to look at him kind of scared.

"N-no." Connor stuttered. "I-I'm good."

Later That Night
Emmett and Skylar's House

I just finished singing Faith and Luna to sleep, I turned to turn off Luna's light but I didn't notice she was still awake, unlike her sister who was fast asleep in her room.

"Mom?" Luna asked.

"Hmm?" I asked softly.

"Did Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper run away because we're all gonna die?" Luna asked, looking up at me with sad eyes.

"No, of course not." I assured her as she snuggled up to me on my lap. "I think they did it to keep us safer. That's why the entire family on my side and all those other people are here for too. I won't let anybody hurt you, your sister, Renesmee, or your other cousin's."

Luna nodded and I pulled tucked her back in and wrapped my arms around her so she feels safe. "Come on, go to sleep."
