"Its nice to see you too." He smirks.

I clench my fists, fighting back the urge to run out of the room.

Not only does Patrick have the audacity of showing his face around here, he is being cocky about this whole situation.

"You didn't answer my question." I manage to squeeze through my clenched teeth. "Why are you here?"

Sure I may be acting rude but when you don't make the effort to talk to me or care about my life and then randomly show up, you probably wont be getting a warm welcome.

"Liberty!" My mom scolds.

"It's okay Mrs. Brown." Pat smiles at my mom before turning back to me, "I can't believe it," Patrick shakes his head at me. "You don't see me for two weeks and you don't even miss me."

He really went there? He really wants to do this now? Fine.

"Well what do you expect when you don't make any effort to talk to me in those two weeks." I shoot back. "Its hard to miss someone you don't even know anymore."

"Awe come on Princess, don't --"

"Dont call me that." I cut him off. "You lost the right to call me that when you stopped talking to me."

"What do you mean? I talked to you. Multiple times." He counters.

I scoff, "For like the first three days! And even then, all you did was complain about my new friends and my new home. You never did act like a real friend and try to help me see the silver lining in my situation."

"Because I thought that's what you wanted because you complained about it!"

"Yes but as my friend, you should try and make my situation better, not worse by agreeing. Take my new friends for example, not only did they sympathize with me but they have showed me the best of the south and even gave me tips on how to deal with the move. They are real friends."

"You've only known them for two weeks, you've known me since freshman year! Think off the memories, inside jokes and adventures. You're going to throw away all that for these --"

"Dont you dare say it!" I cut him off as I take a step towards him. Anger is an understatement at this point.

"Whenever they saw I was having a hard time or day, they would do everything to try and cheer me up. They gave me advice and were there when I needed a shoulder to lean on so don't you dare say anything bad about them because they were here when my 'friends' since freshman year weren't."

Patrick looks down at his feet and the tension in the room becomes very awkward.

I hear shuffling behind me and I remember Cash is still in the room.

I cringe, realizing that he had to hear this whole conversation along with my parents.

Gosh, this is horrible.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "Listen, I'm super grateful for you coming down here to visit me and congratulate me. I'm sorry for the way I acted when I came in but I was mad because I thought my parents had skipped my game and then I was, am, bitter at you guys for not talking to me so seeing you here just caused all that to come out."

"I guess that's understandable." Patrick replies but I can see the hurt and anger still in his eyes.

I turn to my parents, "Now I know that you guys were at my game but were trying to hide because you had Patrick with you and I appreciate that. I appreciate that you guys wanted to surprise me with him. I'm sorry but right now, I really just want to go to a party with Cash and the others because they really have supported me and want to celebrate with me."
