Looking at her dumbfounded, Luke gaped at the presence of Kate. She’d been in his life for what seemed like forever. After Katriana passed, they became distant. Luke stuck with Katriana and became close to Kate for a while. Kate did lose her younger sister, after all.
“H-How are you, Kate?” Luke stuttered. She chuckled lightly and looked up at him. The same dark green eyes and freckled cheeks like Luke remembered. Her blonde highlights faded since the last time he’s seen her, but not by much. Luke always thought she was beautiful, but not as beautiful as Katri.
“I’m doing fine,” Kate sighed. “I’ve heard you’re in a band, making it big time.” She commented. Luke nodded, scratching the back of his neck. “Have you heard our music?” he asked sheepishly.
She nodded, smiling. “It’s really something I must say. I heard your most recent album, also.” She admitted, looking down. Luke pursed his lips and fumbled with the letter in his hand. Kate sighed.
“Do you really feel that way about her? That you want to forget her memory?” Kate whispered. Luke frowned and took her in for a hug. She sobbed into his chest and he rubbed her back. “I miss her so much.” Kate choked.“I miss her, too.” Luke sighed, letting go of Kate. She sniffled and laughed at herself. “Sorry,” Kate apologized. “I get emotional whenever I see you. You remind me so much of Katriana it’s scary.”
Luke gave her a faint smile.“Well, I’d better get going. I have to meet Bradley for dinner tonight.” Kate said after a little bit.
“Bradley?” Luke questioned.
“My fiancée.” Kate answered. “We’ve been together for a while now, and he finally asked me to marry him.” She smiled.
“Congratulations, Kate.” Luke breathed, shocked that Kate moved on faster than he had. She nodded and gave Luke one last hug. “Please promise me you’ll never forget about our memories we had with her, okay?” She asked.
“I promise.” Luke replied. Kate left a few moments later and Luke took a shaky breath. He hadn’t been to Katri’s grave in a while.
“Hey, my love. It’s been a while since you’ve been gone and I just wanted to say I miss you. A lot. Life hasn’t been as happy without you and it’s hard waking up each morning remembering you’re not here. There’s a song I wrote for you, and they whole world knows it now. It took a lot of courage to give it to the rest of the guys in the band.” Luke looked up to the clouds. “Some words I didn’t mean, exactly, and some words I did. Sometimes I do wish I could wake up with amnesia, but then I regret saying that. I wouldn’t want to escape your memory, our memories. Those past adventures we had made me who I am today. I wouldn’t be here without you, Katriana Rabe. Thank you so much. I love you with all my heart, and it hurt to see you go.” He felt the moisture from his tears on his face.

Katriana covered her face and blushed. Luke laughed at her and held his phone in is hands.
“Luke, please don’t make me take pictures.” Katriana groaned. Luke smirked and grabbed her sides. She squealed and fell on top of himi. They landed on the ground and burst out in laughter."Why do you despise getting your photo taken, Miss Katriana?" Luke asked, helping her up from the ground. Katriana gave him an annoyed look which only made Luke grin.
"You know the reason, smart ass." She joked and snatched Luke's phone from his hand and started running. Luke was taller than her, so Katri didn't have a good chance of getting away from him. He caught up to her and picked her up from behind, holding her in a bridal position. She squealed again, and he spun her around. He stopped spinning and smiled at Katri, who was now in a fit of giggles.
"May I please have my phone back?" Luke asked nicely. She tapped her chin and thought for a moment.
"Only if you promise not to leave me." Katri said, and meant it.
"I would never leave you, I promise." Luke said and kissed her.
"Never?" She asked.
"Never, ever." Luke replied, and meant it forever.
