Niall asked one of the bartenders to search for a guy in a fedora with flaming red hair. Michael had gotten lost in the bar and Luke felt slightly guilty. He sat with Harry, Niall, and Rej. Rej was one of Luke's best friends in primary and Ashton had invited him to come along. Harry took a sip of his beer and burped loudly. Rej laughed and Luke chuckled. "The party just started man and you're already drunk."

"What can I say?" Harry slurred. "I'm the life of the party." Luke shook his head and Rej patted his shoulder. The door opened and Michael walked in, someone trailing behind. Michael had an annoyed look plastered on his face as he sat down next to Luke. "Thanks a lot." He muttered. Luke rolled his eyes. The person who was following Michael sat down across from Luke. Louis greeted him and Luke avoided making eye contact.

"Luke, can I talk to you for a moment?" He asked. Luke gulped but accepted. They both stood up and walked towards a corner in the back. Luke looked up at his friend of whom he had sabotaged his relationship with.

"I know it's your birthday, so I think tonight we should attempt to be friendly with each other."

"Okay, Calum. I'll do it." Luke sighed. "How many times do I have to say I'm sorry?"

Calum shrugged. "Maybe when you mean it."

Luke's expression was hurt as Calum walked away. He swallowed the lump in his throat and shuffled to their table. Michael and Harry were already talking as Michael was trying to understand Harry's muffled language. Rej twirled the straw in his glass, patiently waiting for his friends to return. Calum sat in his seat, flashing a fake smile only Luke noticed. Tears were threatening to spill out of his eyes as Niall returned to his seat next to Harry. "I think everyone's here. Now we just enjoy the party." Niall smiled and Luke nodded. He glanced over at Ashton who was occupying Kate. They'd already started making out and Luke groaned. Michael glanced at them also and scrunched his nose.

"What's the problem?" Calum asked. Luke nodded to the pair behind him. Calum squinted and shivered.

"Our band mate is snogging on my older sister. It's horrifying." Luke commented, disgusted. Louis raised his eyebrow. "She's your older sister?"

Luke titled his head. "Kinda. She's close enough to be my sister, though." Louis nodded and understood. Calum and Luke shared glances every so often and Luke started feeling uncomfortable. He stood up. "Niall, is there a washroom anywhere?" Niall nodded and pointed to one not far away. Luke thanked him and rushed towards the washroom. He shut the door, locking it. Luke walked towards the mirror, remembering the last experience that started out like this. He took a shaky breath.

"I can't let history repeat itself." He told himself. Standing in front of the mirror, Luke took in his appearance. Again. Silver blazer, same old black skinny jeans, his "YOU COMPLETE MESS" shirt, and black vans. Hair disheveled from not bothering to do it and a few amount of bracelets on. A symbol of happiness for girls all around the world. Luke didn't see it. All he was was a mess, after all.

Luke took a small box out of his pocket and opened it. Inside the box contained a bracelet Luke kept for years. Katriana had worn a bracelet all of the time and told Luke someone special had given it to her. Someone more special than he was. After she passed, her mother gave it to Luke for him to keep. On that same day, Calum started getting closer with Luke as Kate started parting with him. He shook his head. Too many memories to escape, he thought to himself.

A knock came from the door, startling Luke. He fumbled with the small box, shoving it inside his pocket, and turned on the faucet. "In a minute!" He called out. After he was finished 'using the restroom', he unlocked the door, only being met face-to-face with Calum. "Please don't tell me we have to do this again, Luke." He sighed. Luke shook his head. "Everything's fine Cal. You don't have to worry about me anymore."

"Of course I do. You're like a little brother to me." Luke faced the ground, wiping his hands with a towel. He made eye contact with Calum finally that night.

"Then why can't you forgive me? I know I screwed up, and I admitted some personal shit to everyone, and I've accepted the fact I'm nothing to you, to anyone."

"Luke, no you-"

"Calum, stop. I ruined our friendship, this band. Our careers are ruined because of my choices. I wasn't thinking when I told the truth." Luke choked, finally crying. Over the past year, Luke has been emotionally unstable. He just couldn't control it.

Calum shook his head. "Look, Luke. I should be the one that's sorry." He sighed. Luke sat on a bench in the washroom, looking up at Calum with red eyes. "I've put you through so much pressure... And I know how you feel."

"No you don't Cal."

"Yes I do. Katri was special to both of us."

"How was she more special to you?"

Calum gulped. "There's some things you don't know about Katriana and I."

Luke eyed Calum suspiciously. "It's a long story." Calum told Luke.

Luke rested his leg over his knee, bouncing his knee. "I've got time."

Calum wiped his hands that were now sweaty on his pants. His nervousness overtook him.

"Explain, Hood."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive."
