Dusk was the preferred time Luke decided to escape from the rest of the boys. He hid inside his bunk and closed the curtain, digging for his phone inside his jeans pocket. He didn't bother to change his outfit since the band only had practice in the morning and he could shower and change then. Luke's feud with Calum hours ago caused him to regret ever admitting everything to Ellen. After realization struck him, he wanted to take everything back. To see if anyone was discussing or tweeting about the interview today, Luke typed in '5SOS on Ellen'. Results flashed on his bright phone screen and he squinted.
Luke Hemmings of 5SOS reveals meaning to mystery song?
'It wasn't that big of a mystery', Luke thought to himself.
He tapped on an article for New York Times. The article's headline read "Amnesia: A tale of Truth Or Lies?" Luke furrowed his eyebrows.
The whole passage explained how Amnesia was just a random song, no meaning behind it. They also tried finding proof of who wrote the song. On their album, they had shown who wrote each song. None of the band members supposedly wrote Amnesia, so people thought it was fake. Management did the cover up for Luke's sake and added the composers as the writers. "Bullshit." Luke cursed. He heard shuffling outside of his bunk in the hallways. He heard conversing about earlier that day.
"Calum, this band depends on it." Luke heard Michael say. They were all in the living space where they usually play their games and watch movies.
"I'm not giving in that easy, Michael." Calum huffed. Ashton sighed and Michael kicked the ground. Luke peeked through the curtain to get a better view of their conversation. Calum's back was facing him, thank goodness.
"What if you never forgive him, Cal? What will happen to us?" Ashton asked Calum, frowning at his friend. Calum looked down, parting his lips to say something, but pursing them instead.
"I just need time to think, okay?" Calum sighed. Ashton nodded, patting his shoulder. He didn't know what to say, so he averted his eyes to Luke, sending him an apologetic look. Ashton wasn't stupid, he knew Luke had heard the conversation. Luke quickly shut the curtain and ran a hand through his hair. He decided to tweet a message to Calum, since it would be their only way of conversing, unfortunately.
@Luke5SOS: for those of you that have seen the interview today.... it was a mistake. i told you guys a lie, and i'm sorry. sue me, i don't care.
As soon as he sent the message, his messages and inbox started piling up. People message's to him were mostly hate, and Luke didn't care. He heard beeps from the hall and cringed. Michael cursed and Ashton shook his head. Calum glared at his phone screen and stomped to Luke's bunk. He pushed the curtain to the end of the bunk. Calum slapped Luke and scowled at him. "Lying to the whole world also? That's smart, Lucas." Calum spat.
"My name isn't Lucas." Luke growled. Calum shook his head and laughed coldly at Luke. "You don't get it, do you?" Calum choked, his voice hoarse.
"Cal-"
"Save it. We've got a show tomorrow. I don't want to let the fans down." Calum said, stopping Luke from continuing. "You have some explaining to do for them, Hemmings." He told Luke, walking to the bathroom and shutting the door. Michael and Ashton shuffled down the hall and stopped in front of Luke's bunk sheepishly.
"We're sorry." Michael apologized, Ashton nodding in agreement.
"We tried reasoning with him and-"
"This isn't your fight, guys. This is mine and Calum's past, and I can handle this myself." Luke faintly smiled at them. "Thank you guys for trying, though. Calum's a tough cookie." He laughed lightly. Michael chuckled and Ashton grinned.
"He's right, though. We better head to bed. We've got to rehearse for tomorrow." Michael said. Luke nodded and hopped out of his bunk. He slipped out of his jeans and Ashton shielded his eyes. Luke laughed at his friend. "You're acting like you've never seen me undress before." Michael laughed loudly and climbed into his bunk, jeans and all. Ashton rolled his eyes and scoffed, climbing into his own bunk across from Luke.
"When do you think Calum will be out of the bathroom?" Ashton whispered to Luke.
"I don't know, Ash." He sighed. "I don't know." Luke responded before shutting his curtain. Ashton frowned and closed his also. Ashton thought to himself for a while. He pondered on why Luke and Calum always bickered when it came to Katriana. Calum had to be closer to her than Luke ever was, but how?

Lights brightened the arena and lit it up perfectly. Seating approximately 100,000 people, Luke and Ashton took in the beauty of the Rose Bowl. The last time they had performed there was Niall's birthday in 2014. It was good to be there by themselves, making it big time. "Wow." Ashton breathed. Luke gaped at the size of the place and hummed, agreeing with Ashton. Their earpieces beeped, signaling it was time to get their instruments and start performing. Luke and Ashton sighed, but then laughed. They were excited to play again at such a familiar place.
As Luke was about to head to his place on the stage, Michael lightly grabbed his shoulder, stopping him from walking. Luke looked at him confused and Michael gave him a worried look. Luke sighed. "Mike, I'll be fine." Luke reassured. Michael pursed his lips and nodded. Their earpieces buzzed and all the boys took their places on stage. Luke glanced at Calum, who was focused on the floor. Luke sighed again, and the stage started rising. The adrenaline starting causing Luke to feel a more happier vibe. Michael started playing his guitar to 'Don't Stop' and Luke smiled. Calum faked a smile, and Ashton noticed. He frowned slightly but kept playing his drums.
"Hello Pasadena!" Luke yelled through the microphone. The crowd cheered and Luke adjusted his earpiece. "You guys are probably pretty mad at me." He said out of nowhere, changing the mood instantly. The crowd's cheers died down, and soon the arena was silent. Michael had stopped playing his guitar and widened his eyes at Luke. Ashton did the same and gave Luke a worried expression. Calum stared at Luke, pressuring Luke for him to continue. Luke sighed.
"We appeared on the Ellen show yesterday and... I said some things I regret." Luke admitted. "Amnesia was supposed to be a song for... a friend... and we needed one last song for the album. So, Michael gave me the idea to write it after someone and, boom. I wrote Amnesia on the eve of Valentine's Day two thousand fourteen. It was short notice, and I didn't realize how much it meant to Calum." Luke started crying while speaking. "It was a mistake, and I'm truly sorry, Calum. I really am. Our secret should've stayed hidden, and I'm an idiot for telling the world." Luke choked, covering his sobs with his hand while stepping away from the microphone. Calum started tearing up and walked off stage. Luke noticed and ran after him, calling his name. Michael stepped up to the main microphone and took ahold of it.
"We apologize for the contreversy and if you would please not record this performance, it would mean a lot. Luke and Calum have been through a lot these past few years and we'd like to keep this concert moment a secret between us, is that okay?" Michael suggested, turning to Ashton who gave him a nod of approval. "Cheer if you agree not to tell anyone about this!" Ashton said through his mic. The crowd roared and Michael smirked.
"Wow," Michael said and ran a hand through his hair. "You guys really are the best fans ever."
