Oscar's POV

I lifted Paulina in my arms and took her down to the Impala. I raced to the driver side getting in I started the engine speeding down to the hospital. I glanced over at her every few seconds just to make sure she was okay.

"Come on Paulina hang in there," I stated pulling into the hospital parking lot.

"Please! My wife! She's pregnant!" I yelled gaining the attention of medical personnel. They quickly rushed over to her side checking her over. The nurses were yelling around and wheeled her in, I tried following but a few nurses held me back.

"Sir..Sir you need to stay here," A nurse said keeping me from following Paulina inside. Minutes later Lydia came in with a crying Carlitos. I grabbed him hugging him close to me.

"It's okay Carlitos shh it's okay," I spoke softly to get him to calm down. It eventually worked him falling asleep in my arms. Hours passed before we knew anything. Every time a nurse of doctor passed I'd ask but they'd all tell me the same thing they were still running examinations.

"Paulina Claudio," I overheard I jumped to my feet facing the doctor.

"How is she doc?" I asked frantically waiting an answer.

"She's will be fine.. She suffered an Anxiety attack.. With that it affected her emotional and physical health..Her brain didn't process what was going on so she went into overdrive," He said

"And the baby?" Lydia asked and he sighed rubbing the back of his neck.

"Paulina was still in the danger Zone Mr. Diaz.. The stress and the Anxiety was to much to bare for the baby.. We double checked the ultrasounds and unfortunately we didn't hear a heartbeat... With her consent we can go ahead and remove the fetus along with the placenta or she can wait and have it come out on its own," He stated and his words echoed in my brain. Tears formed in my eyes as Lydia cried holding Carlitos.

"She is heavily sedated and won't wake up for another few hours

"She is heavily sedated and won't wake up for another few hours.. I'm sorry Mr. Diaz I truly am," He stated walking away. I sat there in the waiting room with my head in my hands.

"This is all my fault," I whispered Lydia looked at me with a sympathetic look in her eyes while holding a sleeping Carlitos.

"This isn't your fault Oscar.. No one knew this was going to happen.. You heard the doctor she was still in the danger zone we all know a woman is most vulnerable in those beginning weeks," Lydia said her words couldn't change my mind, If I hadn't left her alone. If I had just been there.
