“I woke up in hospital later on with my family freaking out around me. I told them what happened and they told the police. Stefan went to prison and my mum got her friend to counsel me.” I finished off and looked at him. He looked like he wanted to punch someone or going to burst into tears.

“Why would you try and end your life?” He asked exasperated. “Life didn’t seem worth living anymore.” I replied shrugging. “You don’t still feel that way do you?” He enquired looking deep into my eyes. I smiled and shook my head. He wrapped his arms around me tightly. “Good and nobody’s ever going to hurt you like that again. I promise.” He growled next to my ear. I closed my eyes and leaned in to him feeling completely safe.

“Let’s go find the others.” He told me and pulled me up. Inwardly I groaned because I was so comfortable but followed him downstairs anyway. We found Cory on his way to Hayley and Lia’s room so we just went there. We just chilled out and cracked jokes with each other.

“You couples make me sick.” Lia commented pretending to be disgusted. “Don’t hate honey, you know we love you.” I replied grinning. She rolled her eyes and smiled.

When we got back to our room, I collapsed on my bed and conked out. I was so tired after all the stressing. However, at three in the morning, I was rudely awoken by my phone ringing. I knew who it was without looking and picked up quickly so I wouldn’t wake up Marcus.

“Call back later.” I grumbled. “How did it go?” The chirpy voice of my evil turned asked. “Do you have any idea what time it is?” I asked her. “Payback is a bitch.” She sung and I wished I could punch her. “Leave me alone to sleep.” I moaned. “Just answer me and I will.” She replied. “It went really well. I even told him about Stefan. Now talk to you later sis. Love you!” I told her before hanging up quickly and going to sleep again.

The next day, I went shopping with Hayley and Lia as we had already shown our partners how we trusted each other. Hayley told me that there was a dance on the last week to celebrate how far we’ve come and I didn’t have a dress for it.

“This is really tight!” I whined from inside the changing room. “Just come out and show us!” Lia called. “I’m not buying it even if you like it.” I grumbled coming out. They grinned at me but I shook my head and went back into the changing room. “I’ve found it!” Hayley exclaimed and I rolled my eyes. “You said that the last five times.” I pointed out. “This time I’m serious.” She replied and passed the dress through.

I put it on quickly and looked at myself in the mirror. “This is the one.” I called out and both of them squealed. “Come out so we can see!” Lia exclaimed and I stepped out of the changing room. They both gasped and I grinned at them. “You look so beautiful Ness!” Lia exclaimed. “Marcus definitely won’t be able to take his eyes off you.” Hayley added agreeing. “I’m sure Cory will feel the same way once he sees you in your dress.” I retorted and she blushed.

I got changed and went up to the counter to pay for it. The dress was beautiful. It was a purple draped above the knee dress with a satin waistband, single shoulder and a short wide batwing sleeve. I had a pair of black heels that Jess had sneaked into the suitcase so I would wear it with that. I hoped that it was enough to impress Marcus. I felt really nervous about him seeing me in the dress. I couldn’t stop the butterflies in my stomach.

On the way back to the hotel, I saw Melissa bawling her eyes out. I could tell that Stefan had struck again and even though she was a complete bitch who almost got me killed, I couldn’t bear to let another girl bear the pain alone. “Can you guys hide this in your hotel room? I don’t want Marcus to see it. I need to go meet my brother.” I lied swiftly. They grinned and walked back to the hotel and I felt a twinge of guilt about lying to them but I pushed that aside.

I walked up to her and sat down next to her. “Are you okay?” I asked softly. “If you’re here to say I told you so, just go away.” She snapped at me. “What happened?” I asked in my best soothing tone. “He was fucking some other girl. He didn’t even care about me.” She sobbed and I awkwardly put my arm around her shoulders pulling her closer to me.

“It’s alright; you’re going to be fine.” I told her. “No she’s not and neither are you.” A voice sneered from the side. I instantly bristled as I saw Stefan smirking at us. “Stay away from us.” I growled at him. I stood up and so did Melissa. “I don’t think so Van. You’re not getting away from me again.” He grabbed my wrist but I elbowed him in the side and started to pull Melissa along with me as I ran.

Unfortunately, Stefan was a good runner and caught up with us in no time. He dragged us back and started pulling to a beat up car. Shit, he can drive! This is not good. I watched as Melissa whimpered and sobbed. I’m really going to regret this. I bit down on the arm that was holding Melissa and he let go. “Melissa, run!” She looked at me with wide eyes before bolting in the opposite direction.

Stefan cursed and tried to run after her but I kicked him in the stomach. He doubled over and I watched with satisfaction as Melissa became out of sight. He hadn’t loosened his grip on me and now he was furious. His green eyes were blazing with anger when he looked at me. He punched me repeatedly in the stomach and then threw me into the back of the car.

The pain was so great that I couldn’t move. I had no clue as to where we were going but I doubted that I would come back alive. I must have passed out because when I next opened my eyes I was tied up on a bed in a dim room.

I looked out of the window hoping to see something familiar that would tell me where I was but I could only see cars passing on the road. I had no idea where I was and now that I had lied to Hayley and Lia about where I was going, nobody would be able to find me. I am so stupid.

I tried to pull against my restraints but they were very tight and wouldn’t budge. Tears began to surface as I realised that there was no hope. Stefan walked into the room frowning and then began to grin when he looked at me. “Oh good you’re awake. Now the fun can begin.” He told me with an evil glint in those green eyes that used to make my heart melt. I guess Marcus won’t be seeing me in that dress after all.

i know it's short but i have another chapter ready to upload for tomorrow - just think as this as an appetiser :) Nana
