"Rose, I apologise for being like this to you, but I'll have to get used to you being pregnant first. Excuse me, I mean, you're carrying a little baby in your stomach but it's unusual for me. I wish you had waited a bit with this, but it's fine. Really fine! So do not despair, we will help and support you!" I pull her into a hug, saying "Thank you!". Cal takes my hand. "Well, look, the weather is beautiful outside! Are you up for having tea in the garden?" "Sure, always!" I make three pots of tea; one for us, one for my mother and one for Trudy who is sleeping when I come in. Cal has taken blankets and pillows and spreads them on the grass. I lay down beneath him and he strokes my hair. "Are you happy about me being pregnant?" "Of course I am, sweetpea! It's just the second week but we know that you're expecting, that WE'RE expecting. I can't wait to hold it in my arms for the first time! Of course I am happy, more than happy!" We finish our pot of tea and stay outside. "And in respect to your mother, she's happy, too. She just needs a bit of time, don't worry." Trudy has woken up, she looks at me and my mother with a pale face. "Miss Rose, Miss Ruth... I feel really sick... I've thrown up about eight times now. And I feel like this for a few months now, I'm always sick. This can't be a virus anymore... Should we call a doctor?" I look at Cal and my mother and my lips curve into a smile. "Trudy, we don't need a doctor. If I didn't know better, I would say that you're pregnant! When did your husband sleep with you the last time?", my mother says. "Three months ago I think..." "And how long do you already feel like this?" "Oh God, the same time! My husband and me always wanted a baby!" My mother laughs. "Two pregnant women in this household... I can't believe it!" Then we all start laughing. 💗

There is going to be a double pregnancy: Rose is two weeks pregnant and Trudy is three months pregnant!
