-A few months later-

Today, after breakfast, me and Natalie are brought to my dad's graveside again. "Hello, Dad." I always 'talk to him' because I'm sure that he can hear it up there in heaven. I put some new flowers on the graveside and change the candle. "Look, Dad, Natalie is also with me to visit her granddaddy. Today we're going to stay at Cal's house. I'm so happy with him, and I'm sure that you would like him." I kneel down in front of the grave and say a prayer, then I go back to the car, where the driver is waiting for us. Natalie and me are brought to the Hockleys' estate. The housemaid opens the door, Cal standing right behind her. "Good morning, Miss Dewitt Bukater and Miss Natalie, come in, please, Mr Hockley is already expecting you." Cal laughs, pulls me into a hug and kisses me softly. He takes Natalie into his strong arms and places a kiss on her forehead. "She's so unbelievably sweet, Rose!" "Yes, she really is!" Nathan Hockley comes into the hall, holding a glass of brandy in his hand.

"Miss Rose, nice to meet you again!" He puts the glass on the table, that is standing in the hall, takes my hand and places a kiss on it. A dark-brown-haired young lady follows him, wearing a white lingerie robe with a negligée under it. Completely different to other women I know, she shows off her body and legs in front of visitors, she also seems to love Nathan Hockley badly. "This is my father's lover Catherine." She comes to me and takes my hand. "My name is Catherine Priest, nice to meet you, Miss Rose. Caledon and Nathan told me so many good things about you." "My pleasure, Catherine." Then she looks at Natalie. "Oh look, isn't that a sweet thing? She has your hair and lashes, Caledon and Rose's eyes." Natalie giggles when Catherine pinches her chubby cheek.
