We were running, hearts pounding, leg aching. The sirens were blaring loud in our ears. And truth be told we were scared out of our minds, or at least I was. I was going as fast as I could and tripped over my own feet and went face first to the ground but before I could hit it Ethan caught me. “thanks” I said and we kept running heavily breathing and hands intertwined. Sure I had known Ethan sense elementary school and we were alway against each other in high school but in elementary before all the competition and even before I met Paige we use to be really good friends. We hung out, did homework, and helped one another out when needed. But as high school came along so did new relationships and competition so we soon grew very far apart after a short while.

We found the window and as we made our way out of the building I had a feeling like I forgot something so I look at the things I have to make sure. I had the shield? Check, first aid kit? check, laptop? Check so what was I missing? Then I heard a call for help and that's when I remember. Paige. That’s what I was missing and to make it all worse it wasn't even an object it was my best friend.

I run in the direction of her plea and found her lying there her right leg in an odd position “ what happened!?!’ I asked she groaned in pain as a reply. I try to help her up but part of her seemed to resist my assistance “ what happened?” I ask again this time in a calmed voice even though I was screaming the thought inside my head. “ I-I don’t know. I was running and tripped I guess.” she said through sobs of pain. “ you-you left me. I was trying to keep up with you but I couldn’t. You left me when I needed you just like Destiny did!” hearing her say that was heartbreaking. “ It was an accident that I promise will never ever happen again.” she looked at me with her sad watery eyes and I could tell that the words I had just said made things even worse. “ Paige I am so so sorry. Do you-do you forgive me?” I ask as tears roll down my face. Paige looks exhausted  but still nods in my forgiveness then passes out from pain and exhaustion.

Ethan came back to help me carry Paige and together slowly made our way out of the museum using corporation as our key to succeed. We had to get Paige out of here I couldn't let anything happen to her. There was already so much damage done to this poor girl that it surprises me that she's still sane. Then I realized how little I really knew about Paige’s past.

All I she ever told me was that her family had left because they didn’t have enough money to support everyone so they moved away and left her behind and never came back. “but that's ok.” she would always tell me “ because if they wouldn’t have I would never had met my two best friends.” at first I was jealous that she still considered Destiny as not only one of her friends but one of her best friends and for some reason before that had always put me on edge but now I just felt sorrow.

I let out a heavy breath as we get to the car that was parked 3 blocks away from the museum. Ethan helps me seat Paige in the back and then went to sit shotgun. I put the shield on the floor and went to the driver's seat and turned the key and we were gone.

We pull up in the hidden driveway to the bunker and loaded everything we had down into the bunker then we went back to get paige. We each grab one of her arms and bring her to her bed and set her down on it. I was worried about her she had been out for the whole 2½ day drive and she still wasn't close to awake.

Another day goes by and Paige has still not opened her eyes once. Her complexion had gone pale and she looked frail but she we still alive and that was enough for me. As I was sitting there waiting for her to wake Ethan came up to me. He saw the worry in my eyes and took my hand just as Paige started to stir.
