Chapter 12

Vianca's POV

Oh god what do I do now? But wait, why am I so confused when everything seems so clear. Ethan has wasted a lot of time behind me and he didn't even go to office. He must be tired by now he needs some rest and also it's inappropriate to ask my boss to stay with me. And I don't think he will mind if I ask Kevin to stay because anyways whatever he did for me was out of guilt and not because he actually cared. Besides, Kevin is my best friend and I am 200% sure that if I ask Ethan to stay he will feel bad and he will get mad at me.

"Kevin you stay with me and Ethan I think you should go back and rest, you must be tired." I saw Kevin smirking in victory and Ethan's face looked emotionless.

"I knew it that my Shortcake will always choose me." Said Kevin as he pulled my cheeks lightly.

I was about to say that it was not about choosing when Ethan got up from the stool besides my bed and said, "If that's what you want Vianca then fine I'll leave. Anyways good decision cause I have a plenty of work to do rather than to sit here and waste my time."

I knew it that all of this was simply a waste of time for him. It's good that I told that rude man to go away. I appreciate whatever he did for me but when he said those words I felt bad even if I knew that him helping me was just a formality. But it's me who is stupid. He is my boss after all and he is a billionaire. How can I expect him to be kind to me, his middle class assistant. Oh god why am I bothering myself by thinking about that jerk.

I then heard Kevin clearing his throat. Kevin was now sitting on the same stool beside my bed where Mr. Arrogant was sitting a few minutes back.

"Shortcake why didn't you tell me I got really scared when my stupid sister told me that you are hospitalised."

"Sorry Kevin everything happened suddenly and I was in a very bad condition I had no energy to inform someone."

"But Shortcake how did that jerk came to know about your condition? And he said that you fainted. Tell me what exactly happened?"

"Well I had fever and cold since yesterday and at the office I was in a very bad condition. He must have noticed it that's why he told me to take a leave until I get well. And I was about to go to the hospital today in the afternoon when he came all of a sudden to my place to check on me and then I had an asthma attack and my inhaler was over so he told his driver to get it while he was trying to comfort me and then I took 3 pumps of inhaler and I felt better but after a few minutes I started shivering and fainted due to fever so he brought me here."

"Oh my god shit Vianca! How can you be so careless your inhaler is such an important thing for you. You should always keep a new inhaler incase the first one gets over. Thank god he was there with you or else I can't imagine what would have happened to you." He said and hugged me tightly.

"But from now onwards if you catch cold, you have to inform me. I don't want you to be in danger."

"Relax Kevin nothing will happen to me until I have a best friend like you."

"Shortcake since you are admitted in such a big hospital how will you be able to pay the bill? I know celebrities and rich people come to this hospital. Don't tell me that jerk is paying your bill."

"Kevin he insisted that he will pay the bill but I won't take any favours from him or anybody else. I can't pay the entire bill in one go but I'll pay it back to him in installments from my salary."

"Shortcake I can pay the bill from my savings."

"No Kev I know your entire savings will be gone then and I can't refuse Ethan so I'll let him pay but I'll return it to him so please don't worry."
