8. A Familiar Cold

Narrator POV

The ride to the restaurant was fairly quiet. Y/n fancifully gazed out at the scenery that whizzed by as they moved. He loved the view South Korea gave him. Even in town the country bursted with life and beauty. The atmosphere in its self happier and more positive than what he was used to in America. The sweet smell of Lisa's perfume filled his nostrils just as the sound of her soft, pleasant, and happy humming of "Forever Young" filled his ears. All of these things at once calmed him and made him feel happier and fuller than he had the night before.

Lisa scrolled happily through her phone reading reviews of the restaurant they were on their way too while she hummed. Y/n slightly turned his head to get a better look at her.

"You really like that song, don't you?" He asked with a smirk.

"Hmm." Lisa hummed in response. "I'm sad Mr. Yang wouldn't let us release it."

"I'm sure he will eventually, maybe I'll talk to him and see what we could do to convince him." Y/n replied with a smile, Lisa's eyes lighting up.

Y/n POV

How is she so care free? Just last night she was crying as bad as I was. I shouldn't question it. Her care free spirit is part of her charm after all, and it definitely brightens up the mood. Although, I still wish I could figure out why she's so adamant about paying for everything when I make way more given I work with more than just Blackpink. I get she's trying to cheer me up but-

"Oppa?" I was snapped out of my thoughts with her looking at me with her head tilted slightly and fixed with a worried expression. "Are you okay? You seem spaced out all of a sudden."

"Yeah I'm fine. Just lost in thought." I said trying to bring my myself back down to Earth.

"Ouh? About what?" She asked Like a curious child.

"Just about how we have to go back to work tomorrow. Mr. Yang has me producing for other groups, as well as he's approved you guys to put out another single. So, I'll have to get to work on making you a beat to use for it. I have a couple idols coming to see me tomorrow with their collab project to have me make a few beats that suit them." I explained thoughtfully. There's no way I could tell her I was thinking about her. I mean she's an idol. I'm just some guy from Ohio.

"Oh, right. It sucks. We've been non stop and I know you didn't take a break while we were on tour, you don't know the meaning of the word." She said sighing and leaning forward. "Have you ever been able to get yourself anything for all the work you do? I mean you get pay plus commission royalties."

"I have, actually. I get it tomorrow before work." I returned with an expression of pride.

"Oh? Oppa gettin' some swag" Lisa giggles out, "I think I made you look a little too good, it's going to your head."

We both laughed at the conversation, and it wasn't long until the driver let us know we had arrived. Stepping out out of the vehicle, we got our first look at the place. It wasn't anything super immaculate, but it seemed pleasant and cozy enough. It was fairly odd because you could tell it was a simple burger place, yet it felt like an upscale restaurant. Two things that normally aren't present simultaneously together.

"Wow, this place is interesting if nothing else." I said, admittedly a little shocked.

"Yeah, I never pictured it would look like this." Lisa responded with a similar shock, "let's go eat then! No sense in just staring at the restaurant. We're here to eat!"

Lisa wasted no time grabbing my arm and dragging me into the restaurant. She was excited, and I admit, So was I. You could smell the food from outside and it was making me even hungrier. We didn't have to wait long to be seated, either. We waited a few minutes at most and we were taken to a small, rounded, private booth. My guess is they recognized Lisa an thought she would like some privacy to eat. I'm not complaining though, people have come to Lisa all day asking for autographs and pictures while we shopped, I bet it gets tiring.
