Chapter 14

THEN

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELIX" Chan and Minho sung in chorus when I exited my room.

"Fuck oh thank you guys" I said, startled as I took a few steps back into my room.

I walked forward again and gave each of them a hug.
"Here's our present, you can open it later though!" Chan said excitedly handing me a big box of who knows what.

"He means my present which he wanted to share because he forgot to buy one for you" Minho said rolling his eyes and snatching it out of Chan's hand and giving it to Felix.

"Shut up, I haven't given him a present in like forever" Chan said turning to Felix, "right mate?"

"Right" I huffed and placed the gift on my bed.

"What did your dear Hyunjinnie give you?" Chan asked wriggling his eyebrows.

"Nothing" I said sadly, he actually didn't look like he had planned anything or maybe he had planned for something after the performance.

"I don't believe that shit" Minho chuckled, "I'm imagining birthday sex" he added and winked.

My cheeks turned red, "Sh-shut up"

"Birthdays mean sex? I legit can't wait for mine then" Chan smirked playfully backhugging his boyfriend.

It was Minho's chance to flush deep red, "i-i didn't say that"

"Sure baby" Chan replied leaving a lingering kiss on the other's neck.

"O-okay, You ready?" Minho asked me trying to change the topic.
I exhaled slowly, "I guess, Hyunjin will be back in a few minutes, he said he's grabbing some energy drinks from the store"

Minho raised a suspicious eyebrow at that.

"What?"

"Uhm, it's no-nothing just remembered something" he smiled again.

Right as Minho said that there was a knock on the door, "Am I allowed in?" Hyunjin grinned.

"It's your room man you decide" Chan said chuckling and taking the energy drinks from the other's hands.

Hyunjin dropped the rest into his back pack and slung it over his back, "We going?" he asked raising an eyebrow at me.

He seemed different. Weird mostly but different too.

As we were walking out Hyunjin just held my hand, he was nervous, I brushed off the lack of touch as just nerves.

Minho was the first to perform and obviously he was absolutely amazing, with his charm and sharp moves, I wasn't surprised when half the auditorium fell in love with him.

We went backstage because the duo dance category had started, we also had to congratulate Minho, and I bumped into the one and only Kim Seungmin again.
"Hey!" He said excitedly
"Hi" I said trying to reciprocate the excitement but failing.

I heard Chan coughing and I turned towards the same direction to find he and his boyfriend making a face of discomfort, "Uh Felix we're going, uhm we'll be in the audience don't worry, best of luck mate"

I nodded, weirded out by how everything's been happening.
"Good luck on your dance, I heard it's in a few minutes" Seungmin smiled genuinely, looking behind me at Hyunjin, oh, I almost forgot he's here.

"Thank you" Hyunjin said untangling his hands from mine and with a smile that reached his eyes, a smile I loved.

Then it got awkward, I was unsure of what to do because this just didn't feel right.
So I dragged Hyunjin, telling Seungmin a goodbye and told him we need to channel our concentration into the performance because we were performing after 2 more acts.

And soon it was show time and we were on the stage, all dressed up, the lights were blinding and I couldn't find anyone I knew.
There was a tightness in my chest, which I ignored because I associated it with stage anxiety.

It wasn't stage anxiety.

The performance was brilliant, I could feel it within my skin, Hyunjin and I made eye contact at the end of the performance, exhilarated to the core but no something was definitely off.

Minho and Chan were running to us in the backstage, Hyunjin told he'll be back in a few minutes.
And before I could react I was engulfed in the warmest hug Chan could offer me.
He was amazing at hugs, I couldn't deny.

"You were incredible Felix!" Minho said giving a side hug.
Blush crept up my cheeks, "Thanks hyung, not better than you though"
"Oh gosh, shut up now, we need some celebratory dinner right now" Minho said jumping up and down while clinging onto Chan.

"But what about the prizes?" I asked uncertainly.
"They don't do all that shit, if you get selected to Nationals, you get selected, there's no certificates and stuff for now, so let's go!"

"Oh okay, i'mma go get Hyunjin, see you outside" I said chuckling and turning away to search for him.
