Fear

Frozen in sight,
Fear in my eyes,
Hand on my mouth,
Muffling my cries.

A silver blade,
Gleaming in the night.
Blood flowing slowly,
Running out of sight.

This familiar face,
Staring back at me.
Eyes so blank,
I turn to flee.

But I'm frozen there,
Staring in her eyes.
Her mouth curves upwards,
The cuts surrounded by flies.

I open my eyes,
Relief floods through me.
Then I scream in horror,
The girl is me.
