My Mask

I laugh,
I smile,
You haven't seen me cry,
In a little while.

I joke,
I tease,
You haven't seen me frown,
With much ease.

But when no one's around,
All I do is cry,
The salty, wet tears,
Streaming from my eyes.

When no one's around,
All I do is frown,
No matter how hard I try,
I'm always feeling down.

These things,
I let no one see,
Behind this mask I show,
Is the real me.
