When one of the cases Lucifer is assisting Chloe with involves a deceased writer, it happens to be a great opportunity for your friends to learn about your shared passion for writing. You haven't known the team for very long, but in the short time you've been acquainted, Lucifer has had just enough time to grow intrigued by you — in fact, he spends every moment around you trying to impress you, sometimes less blatantly than other times. It isn't pushy or too much, but it is obvious how he seeks your attention with the things he does and says.
So, when your writing comes up while you're visiting the precinct, Lucifer is quick to shift his interest from the case to you with an attempt at sympathizing and agreeing with you. If anything, it's almost amusing to you and his co-workers, but you appreciate his efforts and interest, even if it happens to be guided by his crush on you.
