For a few months now, you've had a boyfriend with whom you are fairly happy, even if your relationship isn't perfect. Truth be told, there are actually plenty of flaws, which Lucifer is particularly good at spotting — see, he isn't a fan of your boyfriend in the slightest. While he would much prefer you cuddling with him rather than the douche (on a much more douchey level than Dan ever) you're dating, his frustration isn't because of his own selfish goals.
Lucifer doesn't think you should continue dating him because he doesn't treat you right — he's seen the little things that slowly force a wedge between you two, and he intends to stop it before it can grow any worse. You, understandably, don't really appreciate Lucifer's attempts to "protect" you, even if that is truly all he wishes to do.
