During the ceremony in the bayou, Hope and Klaus said their goodbyes as the water went up in flames. As he left, I went after him to say my own goodbyes. He was still family to me.

As he got near his car, he dropped to the floor. I looked around confused as to who could've snapped his neck.

"Uncle Niklaus!" I yelled, running towards him, but I was spelled back.

I barred my fangs, getting myself ready to fight someone when a twig broke. I turned to see Hope emerge from the woods.

"Hope Andrea," I said. "What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm sorry," she said, waving her head up, and I was out like a light.

--

I woke up to hear Elijah and Klaus talking. I was on the floor in the Mikaelson compound. I sat up and followed their voices. I heard them talk about how Elijah didn't get his memories back despite Vincent and Marcel's plan, and that Antoinette was still dying.

Klaus sounded bitter with his responses, a tone I never heard him take up with Elijah before. I went to look around the house, letting them quarrel in peace.

By the time I went to let Klaus know I was here, all five of the Mikaelson siblings were together, as well as Marcel.

They looked over at the sound of footsteps. They looked scared at first, but all of their faces softened when they saw me. All of theirs but Elijah. Rebekah sighed and walked towards me, pulling me into a hug.

"Hey, Aunt Bex," I said, holding her close. "It's been a while."

"You're here, too," she said, brushing a hair out of my face. "Why?"

"I saw Hope take Klaus, and she sent me here with him."

"Aunt?" Elikah asked, looking at you with a certain look in his face. "I knew you were linked to them from when we saw each other at Shiloh Place, but I didn't know you were a Mikaelson."

"I'm not," I said, shaking my head while unable to make eye contact with him. "You guys-They just took me in years ago."

"That means we need to find a key for Lilah as well," Marcel said.

"Keys?"

"Representational magic, luv," Kol said. "There's locks for each of us on a door downstairs, and we all must finds keys."

Somehow, Kol and Marcel realized that Freya had to have helped Hope with the spell. She explained her reasoning, that it was better to help Hope than let her do this on her own. Then, she left. She was going to take the power of the Hallow back, I knew that for sure. I found my key behind a picture frame of me and her on Halloween the first year we met.

Elijah appeared behind me, looking at the frame. He was standing behind me in it, actually smiling.

"You came to find me in France," he said.

"I did."

"The man you talked about that loved the French countryside, the one you were trying to be close to, was tha-"

"You? Yes," I said, nodding.

"Did coming to see me ease any pain I've caused you?"

I shrugged. "Kind of, but also no," I told him. I finally faced him, the man I looked up to for so long. "Nothing makes abandonment easy."

"Even when my memories, I'm sure that I never meant to abandon you."

"Meaning to and doing so are different. Maybe you didn't want to hurt me, but Elijah... you could've left New Orleans and still have been there for us. Everyone left, but they're still here, somehow. Kol calls weekly, Rebekah writes letters and talks to Hope and I on the phone whenever she can. But you and Uncle Klaus? You erased yourself, and he went missing."
