Chicago,
Early 1920s

I ended up in Chicago. I was trying to follow after the Mikaelsons, but there was no word about my father. There was humors about Klaus being in Chicago, so I headed there as soon as the lead hit. I knew that where Klaus went, my father was just bound to follow.

I just guess this time, I didn't stay long enough to find out.

-

"Hey," I smiled as I turned around to see my boyfriend.

In my time here, I fell in love with a guy named Stefan Salvatore. He was the youngest of two brothers, his brother Damon being quite the flirt. I met him a few times before. Funny thing was that they were Katherine's exes, as well as vampires each of them had turned.

"You look great," Stefan said, smiling.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me close, examining me for the Halloween party we were attending. He and I were both dressed as in all black. I had extravagant, feathery wings on, our couple outfit being a dark angel. Stefan did the same, but he had smaller wings. I, however, enjoyed having people's eyes on me.

"You ready to go?" he asked, and I nodded. "My friend Klaus should be there. Maybe you two could finally meet."

He said, turning around. He grabbed my hand and lead me through our hotel room towards the car, and didn't notice the smile completely fade from my face. I had already started planning my exit, knowing if I wasn't ready to come face-to-face with my uncle.

-

I smiled as he and I danced the night away, our masks hiding our identities from the locals. Though, masks didn't do any good on Klaus. From his accent, the way he moved, his devious eyes, sinister smile, and hair, I knew it was him the minute he began talking to Stefan and I.

"I do believe this is the lovely Lilah," Klaus said, looking at me. "Stefan here talks about you often."

I blushed. I didn't know he talked about me to people, let alone Klaus Mikaelson.

I slipped away that night after learning that Stefan told Klaus about me. I was sure I broke his heart that night when I went to get champagne and never came back. When I never ended up at our hotel, for I was already on me way to another location, in search of a different Mikaelson to observe in hopes of finding Elijah without any contact.

Word got to me through vampires I knew that Stefan fell for Rebekah soon after I fled. So, as much as it broke my heart to be away from him, at least I knew he wasn't hurting too bad.

And maybe the way he moved on so quick broke me even more a little. So, I just never talked of my relationship with him, even if the heartbreak was real. I erased it completely.
