Nervous Way Back to Muzona

The Muzonians got away from Johann's base safely, but a long way back towards home was awaiting them. Ann was so nervous her husband wouldn't make it and kept on looking at him. "His condition is worsening by the minute. I don't know if he's going to make it home!" She said and cried at Jake in panic. 

"Ann, Viggo has been through much worse than this, I'm sure he will make it home." He tried to comfort her, but she wasn't been able to think any different about his condition. "Jake, fly ahead and make sure that my dad is ready to receive him for treatment." She commanded him. 

"I will, and Ann, use the Lion's Roar when you arrive. Just so we know you're almost home." He quickly said. Ann nodded and Jake flew off in a rush to get the message to Steve. "Hold on, sweetheart." Ann whispered to Viggo as she stroke him through his hair.

Jake's POV

"Let's go, Riley! We have to make sure Steve hears about this fast. I don't want Ann to lose her husband again, but this time he will never return to her." I said to my dragon who gave a little roar. I returned to Muzona fast and sprinted to Steve. 

Steve wasn't alone, Darren was there with him too. "Steve!" I screamed out. "Not now, Jake. I'm discussing some important things with Darren and his stay on Muzona." Steve tried to let me wait, but this is way more important.

"You don't understand! This is an emergency! Ann is heading back with Viggo being badly injured and seems to become weaker by the second! He has four arrows stuck in his back!" I warned him. "We'll discuss this later, Darren. I'm sorry. Jake, let's go." Steve finally saw the urgency and got to action. "Havòk! Emergency! We need to prepare for a surgery!" Steve shouted and Havòk came running in as soon as he could. 

"Hey, what's all the commotion about?" Ryker came standing next to me. "Viggo is badly injured. He is hit by four arrows in the back and they need to be removed as fast as possible. He's getting weaker." I filled Ryker in about his little brother's condition. I could see it shocked him.

*Has Viggo really put himself in such danger again? Doesn't he understand he needs Ann as much as she needs him? I hope he will be fine. Hold on, little brother. Ryker thought in major worries.*

After a few hectic and rushed moments, everything for the surgery was ready. "Jake, how do we know they're almost here?" Steve asked me. "Ann will use the Lion's Roar as a warning." I answered him. "Okay, the only thing we can do now is wait." Steve said and we all looked at the skies.

Ann's POV

I started to worry more and more as Viggo got weaker. "Hold on, baby. We're almost home. Please keep on fighting for me and Mike. We need you." I whispered, hoping he would hear me. I didn't have Jake with me, my little brother, to talk to or who would comfort me when he has to. "Ann! Muzona is getting in sight!" Leonora yelled to me. "We're not close enough for the Roar yet, but I'll get ready. Please dad, be ready to have him for treatment." I prayed her got the message.

After fifteen more minutes, we got in hearing range of Muzonian grounds and I let out a warning Roar to let them know we were coming. Jake, Ryker, dad and Havòk all heard it and prepared to receive Viggo. 

Luna landed next to them while Steve and Havòk took over Viggo and carried him into the treatment room. "Viggo..." I tried to stay close to him, but was held back. "Ann, we will do everything we can to get him back on his feet, you know that. But let us do our work now, okay?" Havòk gently said to me before he was called in. 

The door was closed and I couldn't stop myself from crying of worrying so much. "Come here, sis." Ryker said and got me into a hug. "Shh, he'll be fine." He whispered. "Well, well, well. Look who just interrupted something very important for my stay here." We all heard Darren saying. "Not now, you muttonhead. Can't you see she's not in the mood for this?" Ryker defended me. 

"All I'm saying is, she interrupted my chance to get to hear if I can stay or not. I did save her life!" Darren mocked. "You will get to hear that later, Darren. Just leave her alone now!" Jake snapped at him. "Phuh!" Darren hissed back and walked off. Ryker had taken care of me as Jake defended me. "It's alright, sis. Darren won't bother you anymore." Ryker said softly.

Two hours later, Steve and Havòk came walking outside the treatment room. Ann couldn't wait to see Viggo again, but stopped to hear what her father had to say. "He's fine, sweetheart. Just still asleep, but he will make it to full recovery." Steve said and that brought a small smile on her face. "Go and see him. Don't touch his back though, it's still bleeding a bit and the bandages have to stay on well." "I will, dad. Don't worry." Ann said and Steve smiled at her, letting out a little chuckle as well. 

Ann got to Viggo and saw him sleeping on his stomach. She crawled next to him and kissed his forehead gently. He mumbled a bit, taking a deep breath and moved a little bit, but stayed asleep. 

As half an hour passed, Ann got out of the bed to feed Mike as he started to get hungry. "Hey, you little monkey, daddy is home and will be here for us. You must be so hungry." She said while she lifted him up and gave him breastfeeding. In the whole time, Ann listened to Viggo slowly regaining his consciousness and couldn't wait until he finally would open his eyes.

Another half an hour passed and Viggo started to groan more and more, took a very deep breath and opened his eyes. "What... Where am I?" He asked confused. "Hey, baby." He heard. "Ann?" He tried to look up, but was stopped thanks to shots of pain in his back. "Hey, don't move. It's okay, sweetie. You're safe now. We're home." Ann softly said to him as she held him back. "Home? In Muzona?" He asked confused and Ann nodded to him. 

"You took quite some arrows to the back, son. I hope you won't do that again." They heard Steve say as he walked in. Viggo laughed softly. "Viggo, we mean it. I don't want to lose you again. It was really close this time as well as when you fell in the volcano. Please, don't do this anymore. We need you. Mike needs you, but mostly... I need you." Ann said. 

"You're referring to our fight, huh?" Viggo said with much regret and tried to turn around. Ann nodded and Viggo felt enormously guilty towards her. "I'm so sorry, baby. I've been a fool, choosing wealth over family." He almost cried out. Ann hugged him and comforted him in a very gentle way. They smiled to each other and knew their relationship and marriage got stronger again. 

"How are you doing, brother?" Ryker interrupted their moment. "I'm not sure if I'm ready to be called like that again, but I'm doing much better than expected." Viggo answered. "You're right, sorry. I'm just trying to recover our bond and relationship as brothers again." Ryker quickly explained to him. 

"I understand, Ryker, but I'm not ready yet. I need time to reset my mind and become the person I've always been before this war." Viggo told him. Ryker nodded in agreement to him and Ann told Viggo what Ryker had done for her in the difficult time she had after she returned from their fight. 

"So, you really have been helping her?" Viggo asked Ryker. "Yes, and our bond is almost back to what it has been." She quickly cuddle with Ryker, putting smiles on both their faces. "The only thing that has changed is that Ryker is not allowed to leave the island and has to work. We switched his punishment from imprisoned to doing labor on the island." Steve came into the room and explained it to Viggo. Viggo looked at Ryker who gave him a little smile, but soon the older Grimborn brother walked off to leave his younger brother to rest. 

"He is trying to change, sweetie. He wants to be there for us. At least try to give him another chance." Ann begged Viggo who thought about it. "Fine. I'll try but only because you ask me to, but like I said, it will be in due time." He sighed. 

"And, I also think there's someone else who would love to see you and I'm sure you would love to see him." Ann said and walked to Mike. She woke him up and carried him to Viggo. "Mike!" Viggo said in huge relief and couldn't stop loving his son. 

Ann laid Mike down on his chest and Viggo immediately became the father Ann wanted to see in him. "I promise I'll be a better father from now on, and a better husband." He whispered with tears in his eyes. She smiled, knowing he would keep this promise living for as long as he was still alive.
